Lakeside Nextdoor monitor adrift after online kerfuffle
People are crying on the Internet, and this is news???— August 24, 2017 11:55 a.m.
Border Angels takes water out to Jacumba area for migrants
"To me this all sounds insane. " The people involved are insane. What else would you expect?— August 18, 2017 11:59 a.m.
Mideast woman and child get baby back ribs and ribeye steaks at Walmart
That's what scam artists do. Why on Earth would you allow someone else to dictate the "help" they're begging for? Now she's just emboldened to keep pulling the same scam.— August 17, 2017 3:54 p.m.
No Park Wants the Homeless or their Dogs
"I think he was trying to make camping out there difficult so the homeless will go somewhere else." Unfortunately, that's the only real answer to the homeless... "Not here." If the library pushes them out and the community is upset, the community should push them out. If the next community is upset, push them out. Until the city pushes them out, then the county. It isn't an "answer" for them, true, but it is the only possible answer for us.— August 17, 2017 3:17 p.m.
No Park Wants the Homeless or their Dogs
Should anyone have to keep their dog on a leash? Same with every other law you want to give a pass for to illegal aliens, homeless, transients, drug users, etc... is it only the dregs of society that are to be exempt, or everyone? If a fine is "too much" for some bum or burger-flipper to have to pay, why should I, or anyone else, pay?— August 17, 2017 3:15 p.m.
Border Angels takes water out to Jacumba area for migrants
This is like the do-gooders who provide meals for accumulations of homeless... well-intentioned, good-hearted, but soft-headed people who wind up multiplying and magnifying the very misery they think they're helping. But hey, they get to feel good about themselves and preen... what else matters?— August 17, 2017 3:10 p.m.
SDG&E shocks solar users with rate change
But... but... it's the private sector that's evil and greedy! Government is pure and noble and selfless!— August 16, 2017 3:13 p.m.
SDG&E shocks solar users with rate change
Why should they have to "pay a share" of a system they don't want and don't use? The whole problem is that the regulated utilities have used their special government-issued monopoly to REQUIRE people to connect to the grid, even if they don't want to.— August 16, 2017 3:12 p.m.
Glenn and Karen Doshay: Our son is not a monster
I'm tired of hearing about "it isn't his fault". It isn't our fault, either. Yes, he's clearly mentally ill, and that's unfortunate. But that cannot be "fixed". It can be controlled, but crazy people stop taking their pills after they feel better. He needs to be locked up and under 100% supervision for life.— August 16, 2017 10:12 a.m.
Little Flower's nuns stymied by La Mesa city council
If I was only making $50K per year, I could start to list dozens of states and hundreds of cities that would be far more affordable for me to live in than California and San Diego. I'm tired of hearing people moan that they can't afford to live at the beach and that's unfair so they should get some kind of handout. The continual subsidization of poverty is what leads to these extremes. More handouts, we hear! And when that flow of money drives prices up even higher, more, more, MORE! is the answer.— August 16, 2017 8 a.m.
