Violence up in Baja – especially for journalists
Linda22 -- How is the fact that violence and corruption exist in more than one place reason to not discuss its impact in one particular region?— August 7, 2008 5:29 p.m.
Meet the Fockers
As you say, "infinitesimally smaller" means an almost-negligible difference, which makes perfect sense here. "Infinitely smaller" is in fact the opposite. And even if he were wrong, on what to you base that he did it carelessly?— July 31, 2008 1:26 p.m.
The Dark Knight clocks in
[Agreeing w/ bronzebillions] Miller's "Dark Knight Returns" -- wow, that is a thing. Has all the kids speaking their own lingo, Batman is old and trying, Superman is the not-so-secret military weapon for U.S. but has secret doubts, Batman has to take him down because of what he represents and what he could do, they call each other "Bruce" and "Clark" as they battle to the death. Crazy good. My problem with the Batman movies, each one: The silly man can't turn his head from side to side. In the movies -- all of them -- he has no peripheral vision because of the rubber suit. He's supposed to be like the f'n supreme stealth ninja -- here, there, everywhere, like a bat -- but HE CAN'T TURN HIS HEAD! "I win! Oh, wait -- how long have you been standing there? ... I didn't see you because I CAN'T TURN MY HEAD!"— July 29, 2008 7:27 p.m.
The Dark Knight clocks in
Duncan writes well. Johnrubio is a tool. "In some well rooted pit in my senses"? I barf in his general direction.— July 28, 2008 9:05 a.m.
Union-Tribune is up for sale, company tells employees
How does this the affect the U/T staff? Some fired, some stay? The buyer, should there be one, goes through the ranks and determines?— July 26, 2008 6:50 p.m.
Comic-Con 2008: Live Blog
Great stuff, Jay!— July 25, 2008 7:24 p.m.
Git Along, Little Bison
Sheryl -- if you're unsure of how to punctuate -- just put in a double dash.— July 20, 2008 7:34 p.m.
PB Police Prepare for Beach Booze Ban
lovetheboozeban has used the word "hoax" three times here, not once correctly. I suspect she is drinking.— June 23, 2008 1 p.m.
You Can't Hide Your Pryin' Eyes
Not a bad post, and this one not too horribly punctuated. Best thing about it is it put Eagles' "Lyin' Eyes" in my head -- dug it out, good to hear that song again.— June 20, 2008 7:47 p.m.
Suffokate and His Irate Life -- 06/28/08 at Soma
I'm so glad that Cookie Monster put a band together! He sounds great on the vocals. Check out Suffokate's new album, "C Is for Cookie."— June 8, 2008 1:39 p.m.
