What's Your Favorite Twilight Zone?

An impressive list! Not a weak entry among them. Serling himself reportedly thought Living Doll was a failure, but I suspect his ire was more about writer Charles Beaumont selling him script proposals, only to be unable to finish the contracted script himself. When it later became clear about Beaumont's increasingly serious health problems, Serling seemed much more understanding of how Beaumont's friends and fellow writers rallied around him to help complete his work assignments.

Five San Diego Indie Bands from the '70s-'80s That Should Reunite

Wow, Dave, you were at that Jerry Raney and the Shames Halloween show too?! That was at Sea World, circa 1980 or so, wasn't it? I remember the costume contest included a guy who drove in a Volkswagen outfitted as an erupting volcano, but he was disqualified because the car wasn't a "costume." I think the crew dressed as the Fruit of the Loom underwear fruits won first or second place. For years after that show, I told people how great Jerry Raney and the Shames were. I've been following all his bands ever since. 707 wasn't too bad either, for that kind of Starship/Zebra/Hooters genre - I bought the album and still dig "I Could Be Good For You." My oh my.

I recently read that a lot of bookstores have said they would have already been forced to close due to lack of business, were it not for a booming trade in contemporary romance novels. And I've known a lot of people who say they rarely read anything but romance - like with comics, I say bravo for that anything that encourages reading and brings business into bookstores!
