Grand Jury transcripts--are there hidden costs to bond construction?
Russo should have been indicted just for her presence in some of these questionable meetings as well as her covert activities.— May 31, 2013 8:43 a.m.
Grand Jury investigation transcripts for South Bay school districts released
anniej, thanks for the reminder about Gandara requesting funds for Cartmill. As I remember Gandara was on a fishing trip with a contractor and arranged for Cartmill to get funds for his campaign. Is this the same Cartmill that only was indicted because he wanted his charitable organization to be given a table paid for by a contractor. This has been his mantra since the indictments. Well it just goes to show what a liar our president of the board is. Har Har Har,and that's not a laugh. I can't imagine grown men picking up election signs and replacing them with Cartmill's I guess they were in the Twilight Zone.— May 30, 2013 10:02 a.m.
It was always about animals
What a heartening story. Last week I was at the Bonita Pound to see a dog we are trying to find a home for.I was shocked to see that they have horses there. I wish people would bother to go on a tour there what an eye opening experience. It will make you ache in places you use to play.— May 30, 2013 9:21 a.m.
Safety of Sweetwater school district’s buses below par
It's disheartening to think that something bad will have to happen in order to get something done. It's frustrating this board cares nothing about their true responsibilities and closes their eyes to anything that is an inconvenience to them. I believe they gave their power to Brand to distance themselves from the DA. I'm sure this will prove to be a mistake it's just a shame some innocent student will have to be hurt to get their attention.— May 29, 2013 3:47 p.m.
Judge to release grand jury transcripts in alleged corruption cases
Can't wait to see all the testimony especially Fast Eddy and Cartmill's claim that he was charged because he asked for a table from a contractor for a charitable group. As I said befor bet the charitable group donated to him in some way. Plus Mr.Cartmill forgot that people that can read saw other charges against him in the indictments. I guess he forgot about that, but we didn't.— May 26, 2013 7:43 a.m.
Sweetwater teachers await funding news
It should be fun times in the South Bay now that we know only 5 pages of the Grand Jury testimony will not be available. My first read will be Fast Eddy, Cartmill since he's become the new villain of record. It will be interesting to see if Cartmill was indicted solely because he wanted a table at an event paid for by a contractor for a charitable group like he has told everyone that will listen. Bet not! I bet we will be looking at other interesting tid bits. Has anyone filed a Brown Act Violation other than me? It's time for us to act.— May 24, 2013 9:18 a.m.
Sweetwater school district board approves Alliant partnership
Wouldn't it be great if more than one person filed a Brown Act Violation, with Leon Schorr the DA that's handling the case against our board. He is the person to send the complaint to. Get the form on line from the state web site. Action speaks louder than words, especially from the tax payers.— May 22, 2013 8:14 a.m.
Sweetwater school district board approves Alliant partnership
This is definitely the twilight zone. Cartmill's last comment stated that the public would have much more public input into this. What a liar! Some members of this board met with fast Eddy and pre approved the deal. Obviously they left Bertha out of the equation, the only member with genuine questions. If there are still believers in Cartmill this should take care of the matter, what a liar!!! It's scarey how they continue to be this bold when under indictment, and have had the public on theier backs for months. If I hear one more time Cartmill's mantra about I only requested a table for a charitable group I will vomit. I bet when the Grand Jury testimony is unsealed there will be more than him wanting to be popular with a charitable group that I bet donated to his campaign.— May 18, 2013 7:53 a.m.
Sweetwater school district to team with Alliant University?
Mr. Cartmill is this a Brown Act violation? Surely Dr Brand would not do this without board approval or at least there nods from board members. Who in the hell runs this district the board or Fast Eddy? Since the board mtg. is tomorrow how does this happen? Who are the three board members that gave the nod? Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive. What nerve!!!— May 12, 2013 6:56 p.m.
Sweetwater cheer coaches seek pay from district
The board will support Fast Eddy and McLaughlin on this issue as they always do. There stories will not match but that never stopped this board from supporting anything they want to do. Tell them off Lopez then pass Big Ed's hat around to see if we can pay these young ladies.— May 11, 2013 8:25 p.m.
