Condition: bleak
Fortunately for all constituents, this bunch appear to be ready and willing to take the mess on. I did hear a phrase which I will repeat. It had to do with Calhoun's presentation in August. "The biggest pile of claptrap from here to Timbuktu" was the phrase in question, and it described what Calhoun was trying to sell to the temporary board plus McCann. Isn't it interesting that McCann either did not comprehend at all what was going on, or he was ok with what was going on. Yes, we can all say we recognized the pile of claptrap when McCann to his discredit, did not. Pretty sure he is completely in hock to David Malcolm.— January 16, 2015 6:18 p.m.

Has the Chula Vista City Council begun having hired security guards at their meetings? If so, one only need look at the (least) common denominator.— January 16, 2015 6:09 p.m.
Horton's at the door
Very well stated. Chula Vista could remain with the feudal mentality of Malcolm et al, or Chula Vista could actually grow up and be responsible for real future achievement in every way. We can only hope that enough people wake up and realize what is at stake.— January 13, 2015 11:34 a.m.

I don't think that claim has been verified--I haven't heard anyone who can identify any institution of higher learning that has employed McCann. I would love to hear the news if anyone can share it!— January 10, 2015 6:52 p.m.

Wasn't it great when the retired commander gave McCann a thorough dressing down at the Sweetwater board meeting that was held Hilltop a couple of years ago. Classic, well-put and well-deserved!— January 9, 2015 6:34 p.m.

Peevey in their pocket
Utterly shameless. It seems rules don't apply once you reach a certain level. Easy to see how people can get discouraged and lose faith in government and officials and all those people who keep telling everyone else to obey the law. Looks like some people get to pick and choose to their heart's content.— January 5, 2015 6:32 a.m.

Isn't this curious? Passing strange, I believe Shakespeare might say. Manipulation of votes...and here I thought it was a part of the procedure that the Registrar of Voters could reconcile absentee ballots if there were minor discrepancies, by contacting the voters involved. I guess when someone prefers one outcome over another, that might not be done. Voting irregularities, and in favor of the Republican Party? Isn't that interesting, considering they so much like to speak about law and order. I guess if you have enough financial backing, you get to pick and choose the laws you obey. "Curiouser" and "curiouser".— January 5, 2015 5:21 a.m.
Former ethics commissioner doesn't provide info to state bar
It is difficult to know where to begin on this one. I can only hope she is getting some help.— December 28, 2014 9:09 a.m.
