Federal government to audit CPUC over San Bruno handling
I am glad someone is taking this seriously. We carry one from day to day, depending upon regulatory agencies and the various authorities that are supposed to be doing their jobs. Maybe this will help to instill some responsible thinking and behavior for those in charge. However, I still wonder about actual charges of negligence--obviously many people weren't doing their job, and many more were looking the other way.— July 20, 2013 7:34 a.m.

When Goldsmith hit his wife, tossed items off the table
As I suspected, it looks like both Filner and Goldsmith have some issues with anger and control.— July 15, 2013 9:24 a.m.

Is Marco Quinones Pearl's son? Can anyone enlighten further on Robert Carriedo and Bob Strahl? Because my guess is that Brand's goal is to dilute the effectiveness of the Bond Oversight Committee by packing it with his minions.— July 15, 2013 9:22 a.m.

Exactly, as it is not Fast Eddy's to give. Despite his delusions, he has not been proclaimed emperor of Sweetwater, nor does he rule by divine right. Ineffectual oversight on the part of the County Board of Education and the State Board of Education does not mean that he is free to conduct himself as if no rules apply. Just why the majority board keeps allowing Fast Eddy's excesses is where the real story can be found (in my opinion). That is where the real corruption could probably be found, if any of the entities involved care to really look.— July 11, 2013 5:25 p.m.
Big people talk about issues; small people talk about people
Can Filner recognize and correct fast enough? He needs to find something to guide him aside from his ego.— July 11, 2013 5:20 p.m.

Chula Vista Public Library raises fees, suspends photo requests
"Holistically" is part of the jargon of the day. When in the past, "comprehensively" would have sufficed, now the good administrator must go beyond that, into the realm of the semi-spiritual... Being capable of using the jargon du jour somehow makes the spokesperson that much more 'on point(e)'. Furthermore, rather clumsy word order/syntax is thought by some to lend an air of intellectual superiority, but all the good English teachers know better than that!— July 6, 2013 2:50 p.m.
