Sense of mistrust at Southwestern Community College
It might be worth remembering that San Francisco City College was raked over the coals by the ACCJC and many felt some of the findings were arbitrary and capricious. I didn't follow that closely, but have heard that things are better now--but that some people think that the ACCJC needs to look inward in several places and make some corrections with their own procedures.— February 12, 2016 9:47 p.m.
Sense of mistrust at Southwestern Community College
I had hoped that Southwestern CC was "in the clear" after the Chopra era was over. Anyone can see that there are building projects going on...in the past few years there have been improvements in the access roads to the school, the football facilities have been improved, and I have heard that pool facilities are supposed to be improved. Let's hope that some people with good problem-solving skills are looking at things and figuring them out. As BBQ has noted, SWC really does assist this community--because there are many people who 'hit their stride' a bit later than high school, there are those who are interested in a second career, and there are those who might be able to explore various interests in the arts because of availability of programs at SWC. This community college is vital--it welcomes all who are interested in learning.— February 10, 2016 2 p.m.

Carlsbad’s Julie Harper gets 40 years for shooting husband
I wonder what happened to medical ethics to allow that? I hope there is some investigation on that front.— January 17, 2016 8:32 a.m.

Brace for culture change, Chula Vista
I am definitely not against all change, but I do think that there should be some sort of plan involved, so that things work together. What is up with the City Plan? Shouldn't some of these ideas be presented as a part of it?— January 8, 2016 9:05 p.m.
Brace for culture change, Chula Vista
But of course!— January 5, 2016 10:36 p.m.
Trash man cometh not
Just one more element of the "Mystery of South San Diego County", the continuing saga of interests so special that they lead the "leaders".— January 2, 2016 4:41 p.m.
Bill Horn and the life east of the 15
Maybe that indicates that San Diego politicians should not be that involved in vested financial situations that they themselves vote on. Shouldn't we have at least a semblance of reasonable and decent government?— December 29, 2015 12:59 p.m.
Look out, Trump, here comes Rocky
