Mad Money
I had heard bad things about this movie, so I wasn't expecting much from it. I just wanted to see Katie Holmes (who hadn't been in a movie since "Thank You for Smoking") as well as a fun comedy romp about stealing money. Overall, there were a couple of humorous moments, and the acting from the three lead actresses were substandard for this type of film. I liked how it ended, which surprised me, because I had thought the whole film would be pretty predictable.— June 24, 2009 4:27 p.m.
Fever Pitch
I had watched this when it first came out and I didn't like it. However, viewing it again after all these years, I found it to be fairly OK now. Nice chemistry between Barrymore and Fallon, but like with his new hosting job, Fallon's jokes don't always hit it for me.— June 23, 2009 7:49 p.m.

Enjoyed the first two, and I enjoyed the third as well, although it took a turn to being an action-adventure film. Funny seeing Embeth Davidtz ("Junebug") in an early role.— June 18, 2009 1:20 a.m.
The Evil Dead
Weird, but memorable film. I can see why it gained cult status.— June 18, 2009 1:20 a.m.
Away We Go
Great (but not spectacular) performances in a nice indie + quirky-feeling drama. Didn't care for the 'and here comes the indie drama musical soundtrack' cues, or many of the supporting cast, but the two leads finally get their chance to shine.— June 18, 2009 1:19 a.m.
Starter for 10
I liked the film, but I thought it could've been better. It was crazy to see some of the actors in a film before any of them gained some mainstream recognition (James McAvoy of "Atonement"/"Wanted", Dominic Cooper of "Mamma Mia!", Rebecca Hall of "Vicky Cristina Barcelona"). It was worth a rental, mostly for a few memorable moments and the performances.— June 11, 2009 3:39 p.m.
Ghosts of Girlfriends Past
Watched this because I wanted to see the glorified cameo by R&B singer Christina Milian as one of Matthew's conquests. But yeah, pretty predictable, bland, and forgettable rom-com. But I will say the first 8 mins was worth watching just for the bootlicious Milian.— May 14, 2009 9:54 p.m.
I Love You, Man
Yeah, I [just] watched it. Very surprising, enjoyable comedy. Loved the adult humor and language. Made me appreciate my closest buddies just a lil more. Haha...— May 14, 2009 9:53 p.m.
The Mysteries of Pittsburgh
It wasn't as bad as the reviews were saying, it was just a little slow. The book was an excellent & fun read, and while I sensed why the author/screenwriter made some changes for the film adaptation, I kinda wanted more elements from the book in the film. Performance-wise, Sarsgaard steals the show.— May 14, 2009 9:53 p.m.

After seeing the television commercials for the "Legend of Chun-Li" film, I didn't really have any high hopes for the film, except for maybe the off-chance that it might surprise and be enjoyable. Additionally, hearing from friends and reviews that the film was really bad, I held off seeing it in theaters (03/12/09) until it got to that point where I thought theater owners would kick it out (after only two weeks). So, my friends and I decided to see it on that Thursday (the day before theaters get new movies), not expecting any greatness. And wow...it went so far below my low expectations that I didn't think it'd be possible. Seriously, you would think that the filmmakers intentionally wanted to ruin the "Street Fighter" name. Acting, Kristin Kreuk was moderately okay as the title character. She had the feel of Chun-Li at some points, but that was boggled down by her cheesy dialogue and all those "strike a dramatic pose" moments in the film. Especially during a random club choreographed dance sequence where Chun-Li is supposed to seduce Cantana (yes, one of M. Bison's femme fatales). The Black Eyed Peas' Taboo did not have much to do as Vega, except look the part and have a few throwaway lines. Michael Clarke Duncan did a better job as Balrog, compared to the 1994 actor, while the Neal McDonough's M. Bison was good, but not great. Worst of all the actors, Chris Klein was tremendously horrible as Interpol cop Charlie Nash. From the odd-sounding delivery of his dialogue ("I love this job..."), to the "try-to-look-bad-ass" facial expressions and out-of-place romantic subplot with Moon Bloodgood's Maya Sunee, his character got the most laughs, jeers, and "I want to punch him so bad" responses from the theater audience, he really should be in the lead for Worst Supporting Actor at next year's Razzie Awards. Visually, the film looked low budget. You would think that it'd at least look nice on the theater screen, but no. My friend even asked me, "This looks like a DVD movie!" Plotwise, it's very simplistic, and I guess they did manage to find a way to fill the 1 hour and 20-so minutes. The fighting scenes (which happened after gaps of exposition) seemed to be the only good thing about the film. Overall, the film disappointed beyond my beliefs. While it wasn't the worst film I've seen (I give that honor to a tie between "House of the Dead" and "The Wedding Date"), I'm really saddened that another possible-film franchise has gone down even before it had a chance. To end my review, enjoy a sample of the "Do the screenwriters really believe people will enjoy this?" dialogue: Gen (Chun-Li's master, training her to fight, and has pulled her arm behind her back): "Why are you ANGRY?" Chun-Li: Because you're hurting meee! Gen: You are only hurting yourself.— March 27, 2009 4:18 p.m.
