Build a stadium and Chargers will stay? Nope.
Don asked how *Petco* was working out, not how the Padres' bottom line was working out.— May 3, 2012 12:55 p.m.
Build a stadium and Chargers will stay? Nope.
So is it your assertion that the best way to drive redevelopment is to have the government subsidize sports facilities?— May 3, 2012 12:52 p.m.
None
There are two subsections of Vehicle Code 23152, (a) and (b). For the (b) subsection, the state does not have to prove you were intoxicated or impaired or influenced, only that your blood alcohol was .08 or more. You could theoretically be capable of out-driving Jimmie Johnson at .11, but at .08 you are per se "drunk" in California. And it's not 7 years any more for a second DUI, it's 10.— May 3, 2012 11:32 a.m.
This Is A Wickedly Unfair World. Just ask Floyd Landis.
So if you get caught cheating and lying, you're bad, but if you can get away with it, you're good. Got it.— May 3, 2012 11:21 a.m.
Californians Want School Funding Without Sales Tax Hike
"85%-90% of ALL education funding is compensation." Amazingly enough, you have to pay teachers to teach. And I suspect (but do not know for sure) that you are just pulling that $100,000+ figure out of the air (or some other place which starts with the letter "A").— April 26, 2012 11:10 a.m.
Jerry Sanders for Romney's Veep?
Romney's lack of knowledge of foreign and national affairs doesn't seem to be a barrier to *him*.— April 26, 2012 11:03 a.m.
Timothy Alan Simon: Commissioner with a Past
I wonder how many times (if any) Simon failed the California Bar before he finally passed. Failing the Bar exam multiple times says a lot about a person. And the rest of that stuff. Talk about "failing up."— April 26, 2012 10:59 a.m.
U-T Saw Ryan Leaf as a Savior
The greater L.A. metropolitan area includes L.A., Orange, southern Ventura and central western Riverside and southwestern San Bernardino counties. So in response to Duhbya, yes, L.A. does support two MLB teams.— April 26, 2012 10:48 a.m.
U-T Saw Ryan Leaf as a Savior
"Seems that San Diego gives a new meaning to the term 'fair weather' fans." You say that like it's not something to be proud of.— April 26, 2012 10:43 a.m.
U-T Saw Ryan Leaf as a Savior
Many people fail to grasp that the purpose of for-profit business is to make a profit. Everything else is ancillary. A for-profit company will serve the needs of its customers only to the extent that it costs more to not serve them than to serve them.— April 26, 2012 10:39 a.m.
