This picture was taken on January 6th 2011 at the end of Bermuda Avenue in Ocean Beach.
This is an incredibly beautiful shot!!— February 15, 2011 6:28 p.m.
Spectacular Yosemite
Next trip you take, try Sequoia National Park. I was lucky enough to work there for two years and it is equally as beautiful! Kings Canyon is adjacent to Sequoia...spend a week at least.— July 9, 2009 11:34 a.m.
Cutting in Line
Wow...91X has concerts for 91 cents! Reminds me of the KGB concert at San Diego Stadium (before it was the Murph)...it was $1.01, and the only performer I can remember, at the moment ;-) is John Cougar Mellencamp (hey, it's been awhile) Someone got stabbed at that concert, and the next thing you know...no more concerts. Then came the Home Grown albums. I love KGB! Anyway...just a bit of reminiscing.— July 2, 2009 4:09 p.m.
Seen a Dream Walking
A life long resident of San Diego, 59 years...the military did use the term "Dago" to refer to San Diego, just as "Frisco"is San Francisco, Los Angeles is LA, and I am sure countless other nicknames. Why does everything have to have a sinister meaning?!— June 29, 2009 12:06 p.m.
Fever Pitch
I LOVE THIS MOVIE! Of course, being in Boston at the time they won the World Series TWICE did make it a little more exciting and interesting. It was a cute movie...— June 24, 2009 3:56 p.m.
The Best Grunion Runs
I remember many years ago...I had a boyfriend that I was taking grunion hunting. He didn't believe me...thought it was something like a snipe hunt! Lots of fun though!— June 24, 2009 12:05 p.m.
North Park Skaters
That's my boy! The way I remember North Park is just always feeling like I was home...like I belonged there. Now, I am in Massachusetts, and I still feel like I belong in North Park! Just let me go back 8 years and make a different choice! Born and raised, in San Diego for 51 years...wish I could go home!— June 18, 2009 5:41 p.m.
Love Is Not Enough
Your story is so on the money! Could have used this advice 20 years ago. Settling was always my biggest downfall! I love this column and I love the advice you gave in it. I am away from San Diego now, but read the Reader weekly. It either hurts, or helps my homsickness. I read all your stories. You write and entertain. Thank you so much!— June 14, 2009 1:48 p.m.
More Ugly Stats
It has always been like that in San Diego, especially with the Padres. I now live near Boston where the only thing that keeps me from Fenway are the high ticket prices. Wish I was home in San Diego...I would go to a game!— June 10, 2009 1:28 p.m.
Joe Cocker
Saw Joe Cocker at the Civic Center around 1969 or 70. Great show! I am, and will always be, a fan!— June 7, 2009 3:42 p.m.
