Grand Jury investigation transcripts for South Bay school districts released
Ms. Laura Martinez, who might that be? Well none other than Bonifacio Garcia's wife. WHO I might add contributed HEAVILY into the board members campaigns. Time to resuscitate the information on the Registrar of Voters, lets see just HOW MUCH MONEY Jim Cartmill, John Mccann, Arlie Ricasa and Pearl Quinones received from good old Bonnie's wife. And then there are the THOUSANDS that Jim Cartmill and John Mccann received from the company 'managing' our Prop O dollars. The above serves as the indicator as to why Jim Cartmill and John Mccann along with Arlie Ricasa and Pearl Quinones do NOT want to put campaign donation limitations on the agenda. It appears a well respected community member will be forced to sue them to get it voted on. Cartmill, Ricasa and Quinones your political days are over. All three of you have failed in your efforts to move up the political ladder. No Assembly for Ricasa - no Chula Vista City council for Cartmill and no Mayor of National City for Quinones. Regarding John Mccann, tell us Mr. Mccann did you ask for money from Seville (SGI) ??? How much did you get from the company that was managing our Prop O dollars? You promised many you were going to clean up Sweetwater, then what did you do - YOU BROUGHT BACK ED BRAND, who left under the cloud of a Grand Jury investigation. You have aspirations to be mayor, you won't have a snowballs chance in hell once the testimonies are read. Those backing you will distance themselves from you and drop you like a bad habit!— May 29, 2013 9:38 p.m.

Please join the growing number of South Bay residents uniting to bring about change in local politics. Our community will be hosting the largest corruption trial in city and county history in 2014, At the heart of the issue are campaign donations. Currently several board members i.e. John McCann and board president Jim Cartmill are reluctant to put the issue of campaign donation limitations on the agenda. WHY? The answer can be found on the Registrar of Voters website, review for yourself the thousands upon thousands of dollars that were donated to their campaigns by companies and contractors given Prop O contracts.— May 29, 2013 8:38 p.m.
Safety of Sweetwater school district’s buses below par
Oh, and by the way - they are raising fees for bus transportation. Soooooo, parents will be paying more to have their children transported in unsafe vehicles. Perhaps, IF the bus drivers would write a couple of checks for 'certain' board members campaigns', perhaps then Jim Cartmill, President of the board, and Arlie Ricasa, VP of the board might just be inclined to ask Brand 'what are you doing about this legitimate concern'. Until those campaign checks are written it will be more of the same. Speaking of campaign contributions................. Let us take a moment to remember the excessively, mind boggling, amounts that persons like Jim Cartmill, John Mccann, Arlie Ricasa and Pearl Quinones were given.— May 29, 2013 5:38 p.m.

Joepublic: It is alleged that we paid not only for his vehicle(s) but also for his RV. It is said that it was 'worked on' and tires were purchased. Yet Brand told a reporter in a recent interview 'things were different back then' (paraphrase). I am sorry since when is it EVER morally acceptable to take what is not yours? The tax dollars that he allegedly TOOK to pay for these expenses, THEY WERE EAR MARKED FOR STUDENTS EDUCATION, not Brands leisure activities. And where pray tell was Jim Cartmill and Arle Ricasa when this information was dug up by a BONITA HIGH STUDENT? What did they have to say about it? NOT A THING. And who is now facing charges in the LARGEST CORRUPTION TRIAL IN SAN DIEGOs HISTORY - the same two board members. They did nothing to stop Brand then, and are still DOING NOTHING.— May 28, 2013 6:24 p.m.

It is apparent that our district leadership led by board President Jim Cartmill and VP Arlie Ricasa care little for the by students that were voted in to protect.Mr. Gilly has, for a couple of years now, brought safety concerns to the monthly board meetings, IT IS EVIDENT HIS CONCERNS ARE BEING/ HAVE BEEN ignored. What is it going to take before the safety of students is taken seriously? I have no doubt Ed Brand is fuming right about now, we all know how he hates bad press.— May 28, 2013 2:59 p.m.

eastlaker: you words, and the thoughts behind them are the reason, AND THE ONLY REASON for the ouster movement. We gave those named above the opportunity, because we believed in them - we thought they were honest community volunteers, looking to give. In truth, they were oportunsts looking for a stepping stone to higher political office, looking to reap. Jim Cartmill - ran an unsuccessful campaign for C.V. City Council. Arlie Ricasa - ran an unsuccessful campaign for an Assembly seat. Pearl Quinones - ran an unsuccessful campaign for Mayor of Chula Vista. John Mccann - is rumored to be working on a run for mayor of Chula Vista - does he not realize the albatross he has hanging around his neck? HE HAS DONE NOTHING, NIL, NADA to bring about change. The Movers and Shakers, as I refer to them, are secretly agreeing THEY WILL NOT BACK A LAME HORSE! They realize how committed the antagonist are to bringing about change in the politics of the South Bay. Mccanns anti union rants while sitting on the dais will come back to haunt him, the Adult Ed and ROP folks, Mccann forgot they know how to vote, those persons, whose living rooms he stood in back in 2009, have not forgotten his broken promises. What is that old saying about burning your bridges? Let us not or get who brought Brand back, it was John Mccann.— May 26, 2013 10:44 a.m.

It is indeed a shame that the community of the South Bay is being subjected to such embarrassing coverage. Persons who saw/see themselves as better than most of us - a man who promised "vote for me, I will clean up the mess' - a woman who strutted thru her ethnic community so proud of being ' ---- of the year' - look at them, really look at them - THEY ARE IMPOSTERS, Jim Cartmill, Ed Brand, Arlie Ricasa, John Mccann, and Quinones - they have taken educational dollars and done what with them? I wonder what do they see when they look in the mirror? What are the conversations of their personal mind chatter? Do they speak the truth to themselves at least??????? History will document that anniej's legacy will have been one labeled as an antagonist, and what will history say of them? What will their legacy be????? What will pop up when Jim Cartmills name is typed in to Google or Bing? Surely, he - they were better than this once upon a time.— May 26, 2013 8:49 a.m.
Sweetwater teachers await funding news
We CAN do something, each of us has the responsibility to not only stand for change but to be willing to do the hard work that it takes to bring about the change. What role will each of us play? WHAT ROLE ARE YOU PLAYING IN THE MESS OF SWEETWATER? Grand Jury testimonies to be released next week, read them carefully.— May 24, 2013 9:04 p.m.
