Who told the feds about Azano? Bob Brewer, that’s who.
Don: The bad part of all this is the other person who has expressed a desire to run for DA doesn't have that much name recognition (which is shown by the fact that I don't know her name off the top of my head), which probably means that Bonnie stays on her throne for another 4 years.— March 12, 2014 12:14 p.m.
Who told the feds about Azano? Bob Brewer, that’s who.
And I was all set to vote for Brewer, if for no other reason than to get Dumanis off of her throne...— March 12, 2014 10:57 a.m.
City attorney Goldsmith fights to keep his emails private
Doing a little homework on the San Diego City Clerk webpage, I see that in 1992, when term limits were passed, the city attorney is indeed one of the offices covered under a term limit restriction.— March 7, 2014 3:58 p.m.
Handwriting on the wall for city’s anti-graffiti bid
Too bad this set-up isn't for the entire city.— March 7, 2014 10:42 a.m.
Detroit Red Wings deal a cautionary tale
Don: You are assuming it even gets on the ballot. I am sure the Chargers are hoping to find a way to bypass the voters completely. If the team really wanted this on the ballot, it could have been years ago.— March 7, 2014 10:39 a.m.
Detroit Red Wings deal a cautionary tale
Don: San Diego is nowhere near as bad off as Detroit, so we should be able to contribute hundreds of million of $$ towards the building of a new stadium for the Chargers. Maybe even hundreds of millions more for a new arena. I can almost hear that reasoning from the stadium proponents here, and it scares the hell out of me.— March 6, 2014 3:29 p.m.
Ghazal Mansury denies killing 79-year-old mother
If memory serves, she didn't look too upset when she was taken away in the back of a police cruiser.— March 6, 2014 3:25 p.m.
Major League Soccer eyeing San Diego market
But would the Orleans Arena want them there? They have already kicked out the hockey club for next year. Maybe the Legends could play in the dome atop the Plaza parking structure that the hockey team is building?— March 5, 2014 4:35 p.m.
Winter homeless shelters to stay open until June 30
In my numerous trips to visit a "welfare for the rich" site (Petco Park), I drive by the "welfare for the needy" area, the homeless areas east of the ballpark. The homeless population is definitely not shrinking, but what can be done long-term? I don't deny that homeless isn't an issue, but what can the city do to improve the situation? Every time I drive by there, I just can't imagine what it's like for those people living out there day after day.— March 4, 2014 11:06 a.m.
San Diego considered floating stadium 50 years ago
Guess $60 mil wasn't enough. A few extra million might have kept the place together.— March 4, 2014 10:58 a.m.
