Poll: San Diegans don't want to subsidize stadium
I believe in the MOU the Padres have with the city, it specifically states that football (at least the game we know as football) cannot be played in Petco Park.— September 2, 2014 9:27 a.m.
Poll: San Diegans don't want to subsidize stadium
I think the Chargers are pissing into the wind if they think that a combination convention center/stadium will be built in San Diego. The CC will be expanded eventually (who knows why, with the glut of convention space), and any new stadium will be an open-air facility, and built more than likely adjacent to the current stadium (how it will be paid for is anyone's guess, since the Chargers want a "public contribution"--what a nice term--of 60-65% of the total cost). Hold onto your wallets, boys and girls.— September 1, 2014 8:36 p.m.
Bitter split at San Diego Opera
Karen Cohn can just take her very expensive ball and go home.— September 1, 2014 8:28 p.m.
Putting the "Public" back into the CPUC
Lorena doesn't have the time--she's too busy taking pictures.— August 27, 2014 3:30 p.m.
Senator Hueso busted for DUI, paper reports
Perhaps Lorena is thinking of other things--like moving up the ladder in Sacramento.— August 22, 2014 1:46 p.m.
Belching Beaver going the brewpub route
There's an empty bank building in Allied Gardens--plenty of parking and a great location...— August 21, 2014 11:01 a.m.
Pave it
They shouldn't be separated from regular traffic anyway. Just different lane markings are needed, as that would lower costs for carpool lanes and make them more easily available to use during non rush-hour times.— August 15, 2014 10:18 a.m.
Pave it
If I-5 is widened, it should be with another regular travel lane in each direction and only 1 carpool lane. For that matter, any carpool lane should be available to any traffic after "rush hour".— August 14, 2014 5:25 p.m.
Unconventional logic
Don: True--they SHOULD put the Q last on the list, but knowing the history of the city "leaders", their priorities will no doubt be out of whack.— August 12, 2014 10:28 a.m.
Unconventional logic
Don: Unfortunately, Qualcomm Stadium is a big piece of the crumbling infrastructure, and even if a new stadium is built, it would probably receive the same great care the current stadium gets. The City needs to decide what infrastructure gets fixed first, and I think a new stadium will be one of the infrastructure projects done sooner rather than later. In the meantime, the next time we get a heavy rain, I will watch the grass and weeds grow through the cracks on my street. I don't think it's even been slurry-sealed in at least 40 years.— August 11, 2014 10:24 p.m.
