Has the state AG filed any of the reports she has fallen behind on yet?— December 28, 2014 1:21 p.m.
At work on Christmas
Should have talked to parking enforcement in Del Mar on Christmas Day--isn't DM the only place where parking meters are enforced on Christmas Day?— December 26, 2014 6:51 p.m.
Wheel-greasing
Thankfully, there are now term limits in place for the BoS.— December 24, 2014 9:20 a.m.
No NFL team in LA next year?
Interesting to me that yesterday (December 23rd), Fabiani and the Chargers finally blinked--in an interview, Fabiani said that basically something has to happen with a new stadium in 2015, since the Chargers can't wait until November of 2016 for a ballot proposition for a new stadium. And nary a peep was heard from anyone at the Manchester U-T. Reports are that Mayor Faulconer will have something to say about this in January. It's coming--hold onto your wallets.— December 24, 2014 7:10 a.m.
The case of the Caltrans engineer's illicit remodel
"The investigation also found that between January and March 2012, the transportation engineer continued using the state passenger vehicle that had been assigned to him to visit job sites even though he was assigned to work exclusively at the office where he was headquartered and therefore had no need to use the vehicle for state business." What? If he was assigned to work exclusively at the office and didn't need a vehicle for state business, why in the HELL did he have a vehicle?— December 23, 2014 12:50 p.m.
"I’m going to bury your little railroad."
Thankfully, there is now some turn-over in the BoS thanks to term limits.— December 19, 2014 3:16 p.m.
No NFL team in LA next year?
The above should say HR derby--I worked at Home Depot for 25 years, so HD is almost automatic off the keyboard.— December 17, 2014 12:10 a.m.
No NFL team in LA next year?
If a franchise doesn't apply to host the ASG, they won't get it. And the HD Derby would be held around 5 pm here, so the (alleged) effect of the marine layer would be negated.— December 16, 2014 11:01 p.m.
Horse die-offs and high roller dearth cut Del Mar take
The Polytrack synthetic race surface is being replace with a dirt surface for the 2015 season.— December 16, 2014 4:13 p.m.
No NFL team in LA next year?
Don: Atlanta's Georgia Dome is an antique at 22 years old. Oh, and it's also being replaced with a new dome not far away. At least the Falcons are paying for a vast majority of the new dome (for what that is worth). Also, the Atlanta Braves are soon moving to a new baseball stadium in near-by Cobb County--which is replacing the ancient 18-year old Turner Field. The Braves are paying at least $230 million--of the $622 million ballpark. That's almost $2 billion being spent to replace a domed stadium and baseball park that are 22 and 18 years old respectively. Talk about insanity.— December 16, 2014 1:07 p.m.
