Two teams demand millions for stadium upgrades
The delay was caused mainly by ownership groups that didn't WANT the ASG--including John Moores. But by the time the ASG is here this summer, that will be 3 times in 36 years that it has been held here. And yes--the game yesterday was just butt-ugly.— April 5, 2016 3:35 p.m.
Two teams demand millions for stadium upgrades
Don: I have been there before, but not recently. Thanks for the reminder.— April 5, 2016 3:32 p.m.
Chargers release so-called financing plan
Don: If/when this convadium nonsense loses at the polls, I look for Spanos to sell the Chargers in short order.— April 5, 2016 3:30 p.m.
Two teams demand millions for stadium upgrades
Don: Such interesting stories on the "Field of Schemes" website.— April 5, 2016 9:36 a.m.
Chargers release so-called financing plan
The Chargers will release as few details as possible--but the details I am sure can be found. Deep in the text of the initiative. Just as the Chargers desire. Screw Spanos.— March 30, 2016 11:27 a.m.
Some things to check on Chargers' stadium plan
Don: Home run? For a football stadium?— March 27, 2016 12:41 p.m.
Some things to check on Chargers' stadium plan
Don: I believe the Chargers have said that they expect to receive the naming rights from any new stadium they play in here. I also think the Chargers expect to put that money in their pockets, rather than use any of the naming rights money towards the cost of the new stadium. Furthermore, I think the convention center annex is nothing more than an unneeded, expensive add-on. All the Chargers really want is a new stadium downtown, and they don't give a rat's ass about any connecting convention center annex.— March 26, 2016 8:53 p.m.
Some things to check on Chargers' stadium plan
The $200 million is a loan from the NFL G-4 fund. That will be paid back over time. I'm not sure about the other $100 mil the NFL "gave" to the Chargers to help them in their quest to fleece, er, stay in San Diego.— March 26, 2016 8:48 p.m.
Chargers’ PR is a grating insult
Don: I'll make it easier for them. They can reply to either of my posting names--Aardvark on this website or David Crossley (the real me) on Facebook. And I do see those numbers aren't forthcoming. Perhaps they don't realistically exist...— March 5, 2016 10:57 p.m.
Big break for San Diegans for Open Government?
The real question is whether a simple or super majority is needed to pass the Briggs initiative. Until that is decided, people are just wasting their time with this.— March 4, 2016 1:06 p.m.
