Padres brass tarnished
Don: Dee needs to go as well, as he was the one that brought Preller here. Preller was apparently fined by MLB for something last season, but it was quickly swept under the rug. I don't know what it was for, but for a guy who allegedly learned something from his missteps with the Rangers, he is still apparently quite unethical, while Dee watches this train wreck that he created from the comfort of his office. The majority owners need to make an appearance and kick these two clowns to the curb.— September 16, 2016 9:40 a.m.
Padres brass tarnished
Padres ownership, if they want to make this right, really only has one choice in this matter. They need to fire AJ Preller and Mike Dee. If not immediately, then it needs to be done this off season.— September 16, 2016 9:25 a.m.
Chargers offer "cheapest ticket" in NFL this year
Don: Even though the NFL would never admit it, I think the gambling aspect was the reason the NFL changed the release day of the weekly injury reports from Thursday to Wednesday some years ago. They also fine teams heavily for inaccurate info on those injury reports--you don't want Vegas to set a point spread based on incorrect info on an injury report.— September 9, 2016 8:28 p.m.
Chargers offer "cheapest ticket" in NFL this year
Don: Fair enough. Remember, it's not whether you win or lose--it's whether you cover the spread.— September 9, 2016 1:32 p.m.
Chargers offer "cheapest ticket" in NFL this year
Don: Which Big 10 game are you referring to? That's a serious accusation. And now, I am really curious.— September 9, 2016 10:58 a.m.
Chargers offer "cheapest ticket" in NFL this year
Don: One will always be guaranteed, especially to an area like San Diego. But like I said, just one. After all, Super Bowls are just so lucrative to the host cities. Allegedly.— September 9, 2016 10:56 a.m.
Chargers offer "cheapest ticket" in NFL this year
Don: Not arguing--just throwing those numbers out there. And I am by no means defending the Chargers.— September 9, 2016 10:54 a.m.
Chargers offer "cheapest ticket" in NFL this year
You can bet that one would be guaranteed. But only one.— September 9, 2016 12:25 a.m.
Chargers offer "cheapest ticket" in NFL this year
Don: If the Chargers are the 17th largest market in the nation, they do pretty well for themselves, at 15th in income (according to Forbes), and 19th in attendance (according to ESPN--but only 22nd in available seats filled at 94.6%).— September 9, 2016 12:24 a.m.
Donna and Cory go after Jan
At the time, I, too wish she had become mayor. Now, I am not so sure. And regarding the Briggs proposal (measure D, or whatever it's called), one of it's "benefits" was raising TOT without specifically earmarking certain amounts to go towards specific projects. Unfortunately for Donna, she went on KUSI many months ago and specifically spelled out, in exact percentages, where those funds should end up going--exactly the opposite of what measure D is supposed to do. I am voting against measure D. And measure C as well.— September 8, 2016 10:32 a.m.
