St. Louis sues Rams and NFL over team's departure
Don: Of course the Chargers didn't want to win the convadium vote. It was an ill-conceived plan from the beginning--which made it even easier to go down to defeat. But if the league had really studied that plan, they would have seen the idiocy of it. Well, MAYBE they would have seen that. In a twisted way, I would have liked to have seen Measure C pass, just to watch Spanos try and push as much of the stadium costs into the costs for the convention center annex (as he called it).— April 14, 2017 11:29 a.m.
St. Louis sues Rams and NFL over team's departure
The last sentence of the story above could prove to be the undoing of the suit brought by St Louis. Just my opinion. But considering the franchise values league-wide will probably rise since The League is back in the lucrative L.A. market, the owners might just try to settle the suit. Again, just my opinion.— April 13, 2017 4 p.m.
Soccer stadium investors deal hops from New Zealand farm
Unfortunately, I can't afford to put it on the ballot.— April 13, 2017 3:57 p.m.
Soccer stadium investors deal hops from New Zealand farm
300 acres? That's great. They should take their development plans for the Q site to New Zealand, level that farm, and build it over there.— April 13, 2017 9:52 a.m.
NFL owners approve Raiders move to Vegas
As long as they don't pull out knives--which also happened at a Chargers vs Raiders game. But at least the had the decency to wait until they were in the parking lot.— March 31, 2017 10:20 a.m.
Yay! San Diego reservoirs filling up
Don: Meh--good point.— March 30, 2017 7:08 a.m.
Yay! San Diego reservoirs filling up
In the article above, Don Jones says that the water, "...tastes like horse piss." Just kind of wondering how he would know that...— March 29, 2017 9:13 a.m.
Mission Valley privatization's blazingly fast cash burn
Put it on the ballot. Please.— March 28, 2017 10:49 p.m.
NFL owners approve Raiders move to Vegas
Don: Part of the problem with the Coyotes poor attendance was playing in a building that wasn't designed for hockey (downtown arena), and then moving to the far west end of the valley. Traffic going to the west valley is a daily nightmare. And the fact the franchise hasn't been very good doesn't help matters either.— March 27, 2017 4:43 p.m.
NFL owners approve Raiders move to Vegas
Don: I've been to Hollywood Park (when it was still there). That area is in the landing pattern for LAX, but it is about 1.5 to 2 miles east of LAX. If the LV stadium is built where it is shown in the picture above, it would be at most a few hundred yards from the end of the runways at McCarran. There is currently an executive golf course on that site. When planes land on the commuter runways from the SW, you can throw a golf ball up and hit a plane. (Not recommended, by the way)— March 27, 2017 1:59 p.m.
