Comic Fest Oct. 19- 21: '70s Comic Con founders launch new/old convention
So if the Town & Country Convention Center doesn't expand in the next few years, will they threaten to move?— October 15, 2012 11:33 p.m.
El Indio Mexican Restaurant
Haven't eaten there in years--looks like it is time to go back.— October 10, 2012 7:55 p.m.
Chargers Stadium, Affordable or Not
So what happens now, since AEG is allegedly for sale? What happens with their stadium plans in LA? What happens to the San Diego Sports Arena, which AEG operates?— September 18, 2012 8:44 p.m.
Chargers Stadium, Affordable or Not
Don--of course they didn't have regular sell-outs. They each needed a new stadium--that would have solved all of their problems (allegedly).— September 15, 2012 11:24 p.m.
Chargers Stadium, Affordable or Not
SanDiegoTaxPayer--I really hope that is sarcasm.— September 12, 2012 11:30 p.m.
Chargers Stadium, Affordable or Not
Isn't Mayor Sanders and his minions, er, task force, supposed to announce a financing plan for the new stadium before he leaves office? Just wondering how that is coming along...— September 12, 2012 11:28 p.m.
Chargers Stadium, Affordable or Not
I don't see them moving to L.A.. AEG wants a piece of the action, and Spanos wants all the pieces for himself and his family. He does not want to sell any part of the club.— September 12, 2012 11:26 p.m.
Build a stadium and Chargers will stay? Nope.
Don--Ironically, it's easier to get to Petco Park now than it ever has been. The team is so bad...there is usually plenty of parking available. Of course, that happens when your team has a dwindling season ticket base, and the team is on pace to lose more than 100 games. Now, about those costs; the Padres need to get rid of "dynamic" pricing, and post ticket prices that don't elevate as the date gets closer to the game you want to go to. That might encourage walk-up ticket sales. Of course, winning would also help ticket sales, but apparently, that's not important right now.— May 11, 2012 6:18 p.m.
Build a stadium and Chargers will stay? Nope.
lol...their attendance "surged" to around 2.1 million from 1.9 mil the year before, which was still 900,000 below their attendance in 2004. Also, the attendance figure for 2010 was the 3rd lowest attendance in the history of Petco Park (at least until after this season, where they are on pace for their lowest attendance EVER downtown). And just what did the team do with that $37 mil?— May 3, 2012 8:30 p.m.
Tom Blair Laid Off by UT
Lynch is beefing up the sports section? I hope that might be true at some point, but I haven't seen that evidence as of yet. I hope he does a better job with Dougie's U-T than he did with his radio stations.— April 27, 2012 8:35 p.m.
