The current Sunroad blowup shows rank hypocrisy
Why couldn't Sunroad just do things right? If Aguirre were still the city attorney, he would make them give that 9 feet back.— June 30, 2013 8:37 p.m.
Is Austin, Texas emulating San Diego?
Nice--he is competing against himself. Oh, and does the $750k check get delivered to the office of the mayor of Austin?— June 30, 2013 8:35 p.m.
Is it the mess or the message? City Attorney has been selective when prosecuting chalk vandalism
Oh I'm sure SDG&E have all the necessary permits required to write on the sidewalk.— June 30, 2013 5:23 p.m.
Two Padres among 25 most overpaid players
Congratulations to the Padres--I don't know how they did it, but 2 of the top 25? Well done.— June 30, 2013 5:21 p.m.
The current Sunroad blowup shows rank hypocrisy
Don--I think we all agree it would have been worse if he put it in his pocket, but the fact that the check was sent to the mayor's office is what really concerned me. It was as if Sunroad was told to send it there--Why? That is the question I want answered, and Filner needs to answer for that.— June 30, 2013 5:19 p.m.
The current Sunroad blowup shows rank hypocrisy
Sunroad paid the City $100k, but they delivered it to the mayor's office. Why? "Filner was stupid to accept it for City projects. His explinations of how it all happened are shaky." That about covers it.— June 30, 2013 1:26 p.m.
Sweetwater runs afoul of state Public Records Act
Just thought I would correct the title of this article--"Sweetwater runs afoul". That should cover it.— June 26, 2013 10:47 a.m.
Padres split with Dodgers and Padres fans ready to fire everyone
I misread his contract info on Baseball Reference--he is indeed a FA, but I don't think they should even offer him $5 mil. Unless he turns things around, he will be lucky to cash in at all for his first FA year.— June 24, 2013 9:47 p.m.
Escondido set to approve big contracts for city manager, city attorney
Nice work if you can get it. All of those perks, and a salary of over $225k--PLUS $750/month car allowance? If they have to use their car for city business, can't they just put in an expense reimbursement to the city?— June 24, 2013 4:02 p.m.
Padres split with Dodgers and Padres fans ready to fire everyone
Volquez has been rumored to be out of here for awhile. Also, Volquez is already arbitration eligible, and is making more than 10 times what Arrieta is making with the O's this season. Perhaps the trade would do them both good, but I would really like to see what Balsley could do with Arrieta. If that deal doesn't happen, I am certainly all for the Padres trading Volquez at some point this season, as they don't need to be paying a .500 pitcher for his career $6 or 7 miilion that he would probably get next year in arbitration.— June 24, 2013 3:55 p.m.
