Out-of-town money backs "out-of-town" hit
Monaghan, I quite agree that Alvarez is a fine choice for this job. We have been receiving flyers from both campaigns in the mail, and I must say that if all of his opponent's charges against him are true, then I am even more inclined to vote for Alvarez. I also think that Alvarez's flyers are more interesting and positive, and even his attack pieces contain positive stuff about what he would do instead. I don't know whether he will be a good mayor, but I'm pretty sure the other fellow would not.— January 26, 2014 3:47 p.m.

Compulsive gamblers may be wired to prefer money to sex
Don: is this a blog? On the Reader menu, I no longer see the word 'Blog' as an option, just 'stories'. I was wondering what happened to the Blogs.— November 19, 2013 9:30 a.m.
Michael Shames fails to show in his lawsuit against UCAN
Has psycholizard stated how he is voting? I confess I have been paying scant attention. Saw one debate by accident.— November 19, 2013 9:22 a.m.
Bela Lugosi's and David Copley's Hollywood home is sold
What do you mean? If he is among the undead, he should still be able to use it.— November 19, 2013 9:20 a.m.
Michael Shames fails to show in his lawsuit against UCAN
The election is today. I had steadfastly said I was voting for Aguirre, but am now wavering, thinking there might after all be a practical difference between Alvarez and Fletcher.— November 19, 2013 9:15 a.m.
Filner pleads guilty to one felony, two misdemeanor counts
DW: According to this paragraph above, the charge to which Filner plead guilty was not sexual harassment, nor were the two misdemeanors. Thus, the headline you facetiously describe would be a non sequitur. Of course, battery is simply unwanted touching by another, of which I accuse my sig other often, especially when we are both going for the same last bite of ice cream in the carton:)— October 17, 2013 6:01 p.m.
Filner pleads guilty to one felony, two misdemeanor counts
Imabill: There certainly were some claims made, no argument there.— October 17, 2013 6 a.m.
