A brief comment more to follow tonight. Basketball takes a front seat to this corruption. My comments on UT should not be misinterpreted. Susan Luzarro is a true hero at keeping this subject alive. Let me tell you people at our District read the Reader. Ed probably has the IT people send out the storm troopers if we dare access it at work. After hearing this latest whatever you call it-let me just say us employees must watch our back. UT gets more of the Republican crowd to pay attention when they are not celebrating the military lauding the Pope, or bashing Mayor whats his name. I heard the other day from another mole like me that Ed the Terrible has some connections with brass over there.— March 16, 2013 7:27 p.m.

Hooray for Marinovich ONeill and Brinkman! Sounds like a law firm. A Serb(?), Irishman and a German. What diversity. They are true heroes. Where is the UT on all this? I would ask for Dr. Brands emails and phone records on the calls for the citizen. This is out of the playbook of Joe McCarthy and Richard Nixon.— March 16, 2013 7:54 a.m.

Dreary day in the office. I was getting up the courage to knock on Ed's door this morning so to speak up but he was out at some site thing in the morning. I just can't live with myself anymore with all this stuff. Ed how can you live with yourself? I am losing sleep over this. What do I do? Been around long enough. District does not respond to the story about "L"Street? Weird stuff going on in my head. I can tell you the way the District has handled "L" is not good. Why the secrets? We continue to suffer from stupidity by not just fessing up. We all make mistakes. The problem is the it was a big one that was self inflicted and dishonest with the public. How shameful. I need to contact those activists now and if they won't blow my cover. Who can vouch that anniej eastlaker erupting are legit? Could the District have set these up and then use them as bait to catch "insubornidates". I would put nothing pass them. Can somebody vouch for these people? Help me. I need them to talk to me. Does this take the cake!! You know I supported Ed Brand but no more. I have found Jesus and it is not Jesus Gandara!! You would not believe what I heard today quietly. A chorus of what next and do we really need this "L" Street stuff in light of all the other indictments. bvaagency I think I know you. We should talk. I can go through a third party who knows a friend of yours. I have to be real careful like changing my writing style to fool them. I know what is going on and it is not good. It is real bad. The more I read in the media about "L" Street the more I say what? This was under Brand's watch. Another let's make a deal. He was probably one of those guys saying when has real estate ever loss money? I want to do the right thing but my ass is on the line as slick Eddy is on the prowl. Really. Why did I not hear all this stuff? Don't know who read these blogs but just wonder why doesn't this stuff get out to the main stream daily media outlets. You know somebody ought to clue in law enforcement because something does not seem right with the secrecy. I have heard that word secrecy frequently along with intimidation and bully. I get so discouraged because my focus is on education. It's a core value and our mission. We got limited resources. We should focus our resources on education not real estate deals. How much time did Russo spend of this stuff. It is time for me to hunker down and hide. I just do not know who I can trust any more. Running scared.— March 5, 2013 9:36 p.m.
Southwestern College trustee resigns in protest
OMG what I am hearing today at our District. I can not even say because by doing so it could call me out. I am paranoid. Now that I have my blinders off it just seems like we go out of our way to piss off people. Look no matter what you think of the Board members this is a dysfunctional Sweetwater District. As far as Southwestern goes they need a time out again and figure what to do. Melinda Nish is not Ed Brand. Melinda seems arrogant but arrogance will not get you in jail necessarily. She is salvageable. Ed deserves a orange jump suit at a minimum security prison somewhere near Yuma. Hot in the summer like the hell where he will be going some day for cheating and lieing while taking the taxpayers money. Shaking down contractors for contract renewals, gambling with the public money in a complicated real estate deal on "L" Street, and using your positons for personal gain that is flying under the radar. That is another issue. That is why we have Federal and State Agencies who have access to information take a look. That is what Ed Brand deserves. I have sensed that some in his supposed inner circle are cracking. I sense that they know the inevitable is coming some day. You don't want to be there when all of sudden a bunch of burly guys with black shirts show up at 1130 Fifth Avenue and start taking some computers or even worse yet breaking that gate in front of Ed's home in Escondido and knocking at his door or maybe knocking it down. What will the neighbors think? Mr. Brand your day will come. You will find out who your friends are. Like most dictators the rats will jump ship and all you will have to do is mutter "respectfully submitted" by yourself behind bars.— March 4, 2013 9:13 p.m.
Southwestern College trustee resigns in protest
WTFEd says slow down a bit and just let us think a bit. I think we need to separate out the Melinda Nish and lack of transparency with the resignation of the Trustee. Maybe there is more to this than meets the eye. I think what we are finding is that old cultures take time to die away. Southwestern has done many more things in terms of getting things back on track..unlike Sweetwater. What the Board needs to do is take charge of Melinda Nish and perhaps enroll her in a charm course or something. "How to Smile 101 Even Though You Don't Mean It" It would be a start. For those of you who are praising this Mr. Stewart I would at least suggest you look at his background and qualifications to serve. I really don't know. I just say don't be too quick to jump to conclusions. Did he really want the job and was his heart in it? After just a few months in office? Very strange. Well I got to go to work over at you know where tomorrow. I wonder what is next over there. I am under the radar and right in front of their eyes!!! Don't you love paranoia!! Southwestern College trustee resigns in protest
Well what do you know. Is the South Bay Region cursed with bad luck or self inflicted wounds? I have friends at our sister in Southwestern College. We are joined at the hip because of the corruption charges and consultants. I heard from my friends over there about the mood at the Master Plan unveiling. Not a jovial affair like it should have been. First let me just say all of us bloggers should give a shout out to Susan Luzarro for her reporting over the years on Sweetwater and Southwestern misdeeds and screw ups. Let us not take her work for granted. Thank you. I totally understand the problem here..it really is not that complicated. We have a Board here at Sweetwater who pretty much lets Ed Brand (except for Bertha Lopez) get his own way carte blanch or a Board does not have the foggiest idea of what is going on with a Superintendent acting like a cowboy entrepreneur and “innovator”. This behavior puts the District at risk. Go back to the sleeping tiger “L” Street. The Southwestern Board needs to assert itself and do not let the Superintendent run rough shod over its employees. Look I am not a Union person saying this. I am a friend of good education who is trying to run under cover from Ed Brand. For one, I would do a Public Records request and find out how much the Facilities Group was involved in this master plan. Was there any type of community input sought on the spending proposed of the bond funds for this? Those who feel left should document how they were left out and go to the press and maybe the Bond Oversight Committee and hammer the Administration if they have a case. I feel the pain of those who feel isolated. I have heard the stories of how Ed Brand attempts to bully our employees through intimidation. I am not just talking teachers here. I know all to well how the process of isolation and discreditation works in bureaucracy. Do not get invited to a key meeting when it is clear that your past responsibilities would say you should be there. It is the most insidious disgusting type of behavior that can happen to a long time devoted employee. Just because you dared to raise an issue. Oh the hallway and quite chatter about what shoe is next at Sweetwater. It is driving me crazy. Our Board made a huge mistake. Look their legacies are on the line anyway when that trial starts…the best they can do now is to get an exit strategy, pay him off or best yet find a way to terminate for cause and without payout Mr. Ed Brand. In closing Melinda Nish from these press accounts sounds a lot like Ed Brand and her predecessor Chopra. Hopefully at least she will not be dumb enough to get into legal hot water. WTFEd is not happy about Southwestern. Please Board of Trustees for Southwestern. Assert yourself and put Melinda Nish in her place.— March 2, 2013 8:58 p.m.
Sweetwater school board to address campaign spending limits
It has been a wild ride for me. I just do not know how I can mask my anger much more at work about what has been going on. I kind of feel the whole financial situation is much worse really than the District lets us believe. I really like Mr. Knott. He is a straight shooter. I also like many of the people in the District. It is just a cultural thing that has been going on for Sweetwater for years. It is kind of weird everybody knows it but nobody so far has taken it to the next level. You know that Administration Building is pretty depressing to work in that kind of environment. I know believe me. Maybe that is the problem. What is even more depressing is how some of the cabinent members treat the "lesser" employees. I got to tell you there are some real moral killers in our/that group (I will leave you guessing). I just got to suck this up and remain undercover and do my job. It is hard for me to say these things because I feel betrayed and foolish to somehow believe our fearless leader was just being singled out because those activists needed a scapegoat. I was wrong. P.S. People now have been feeding me info on "L" Street. It is tough to take when I see what appears to be real wrong behavior. "L" Street was a tipping point for me.— February 23, 2013 10:34 p.m.
Sweetwater school board to address campaign spending limits
WTFEd is back. I have silenced my comments recently thinking I do not want to act out of anger or frustration as when I first entered this blog and as a long time supporter of Ed Brand and the District. I did not want to be impulsive and pondered the situation after reflecting on the selection of Mr. Alt and the “L” Street debacle. I was blinded by the spin of Superintendent Brand and his circle of minions who fear for their job like me if we are outed. In fact I try and use words here that would not be code. I would not put it beyond Mr. Brand to have some type of expert look at grammar patterns and find the “mole” within the District. I doubt if I am the only one who now sees the handwriting on the wall. I encourage my collegues to enter this blog and tell the truth. You will feel better about yourself. I have contaced a lawyer and even if you are at risk/non civil service that could assist us. This is a big time attorney not a country bumpkin. It is time for those in the know that you do not want to be there on the wrong side when it all goes down. There is a place in heaven for honest people. Those like Dr. Brand may have another thing coming. I hear it is even hotter in hell than those summers in Escondido where Brand is supposed to live. The latest lack of vote on campaign contributions is just par for the course. What did you expect from people who really just think they can wait it out and beat down the “activists”. I have some very specific information about Mr. McCann that will involve a District Attorney phone call. I am in a position to know and report. I have biding my time since me finding religion and all this data is now being organized. I will keep you all informed of my progress. I guess we could set a Statewide record and have five members indicted. You know this is worse than the City of Bell. Related to this culture of corruption that I am finally coming to grips with, I received an email from Katrina Tippett from Grand Canyon University. I thought it very odd that the District was acting like an agent for a private university to encourage employees to attend. Never mind the fact that this is a Christian University and maybe the fact that I could be Jewish, Islamic, or Hindu and this is such a Christian institution, why use public resources to pimp for Grand Canyon? Have we heard the phrase gift of public funds? In fact there is no statement on the announcement that if you want to registrar it is on your time not the District’s. If say Target donates money to our school District does that mean I can leave work early on company time and buy some food at Target..after all I am benefiting the District? This is ridiculous. I am quietly assembling my information, observing the hallways and talking to people I can trust. This is the year 2013. It is difficult to hide. Just ask Mr. Alt.— February 23, 2013 12:49 p.m.
