LOVE THOSE ROBOTS!! This is such a great program. Great for Boys! Great for Girls! If you have a son or daughter, a grandson or a grandaughter you should learn more about FIRST Robotics. elgy,you are so eager to say good things about your friends you miss the point. A great deal of taxpayer money is being spent by SBCS and they need to be held accountable! And since when is it okay to falsify records, to abuse employees and then exact retribution when they seek fairness. This article spread a healthy amount of light on a subject that needed it! The first time I ever saw Kathy Lembo was in Spring 2008. There she was trying to get EastLake Developer Bill Ostrem's "Riverwalk" project for 500 condos approved near KOA. Fortunately 80 people who actually lived in the area showed up bent on preventing that! Next I encountered her and Lisa Johnson (YMCA) trying to sell the city council on letting them build units in Eucalyptus Park, ostensibly to better serve all those needy clients that Chula Vista, etc., pour imoney nto their coffers. That didn't work but they recently bought the Trolley Trestle property. I have seen a list of properties they own and I was amazed. It seems Kathy Lembo is like Lucy in Charlie Brown......she wants real estate! And she has friends in high places that are willing to help her.— February 16, 2011 8:43 p.m.

The mayor is a pro at token fixes that make her appear kind and benevolent in the eyes of the public ....as in letting the Girl Scout up to speak at the council meeting last evening. Who could be against girl scout cookies but how about all the other little girls who are trying to sell enough to get to go to camp? It was just another "feel good" bit of PR. They have a way to go: the arrogant and unrepentant Alioto, the spin master Chris Bender and their overpaid accomplice, Dan Hom. It is good that Amigable is gone but these others have to go as well. This is just one more example of how the CVPD will never live within their means. They built the Taj Majal with a 42 bed jail under Rick Emerson which has cost us millions of dollars. Do they really need Bernard Gonzalez to stand in front of the garish sign to make announcements about a stolen brass pig. an ATM heist, et al? Southwestern College School Board Calls Special Meeting
This renegade Board, with the exception of Nick Aguilar, can only be expected to add insult to injury, They have never acted responsibly on behalf of students so why would anyone think they would start now? Salcido and Dominguez have been voted out but they will try to take care of the thugs they hired. It will likely cost a lot of money but not getting rid of Chopra and Alioto will further damage SWC.— November 9, 2010 10:06 p.m.
