I think Ed Kravitz will be missed but no one will ever admit it! Ed was sometimes harsh and even disrespectful but the same can be said of his adversaries. Good luck , Ed, in your new endeavors. Thank you for trying.— May 18, 2011 5:58 p.m.
Chula Vista to Eliminate Redevelopment Corporation?
The CVRC should have been abolished when the RAC was scuttled. I sat in the meeting way back when the UDC met jointly with the city council. It was all blue sky and rosy clouds. Jerry Rindone waxed eloquently about his desire to see cranes on our landscape. None of it ever happened! The CVRC cancels more meetings than they hold; we can't afford this drain on our meager resources. We also should not be wasting the time of those who sit on CVRC.— May 13, 2011 2:35 p.m.
Kurt Donsbach Sentenced to a Year in Jail
I think there are good people out there but they can't compete against the thousands of dollars the developer/contractos spend to keep their toady incumbents in their seats. It is a mutual agreement. The developer/conractors allow them themselves to be shaken down as long as they keep getting contracts.— April 16, 2011 5:58 p.m.
Kurt Donsbach Sentenced to a Year in Jail
Color me cynical! Pillars of our community, indeed. What a great role model for our 41,000+ students in the Sweetwater Union Highschool District. Wasn't Jim Cartmill the board meber who offered up a prayer at the Gandara "Bridal Shower/Money Tree event? Breathtaking hypocrisy!— April 16, 2011 4:25 p.m.
Food 4 Kids Program Helps Families
tHANK YOU AAA! I was feeling depressed by so much hunger but now I am more depressed about ignorance, stupidity and stereotyping.— April 5, 2011 8:05 p.m.
Food 4 Kids Program Helps Families
It is sobering to realize we have so many hungry children. I like this program because it is small enough that resources aren't being sucked up by overseers' large salaries and offices. Handling this on a school by school basis is a good idea! Keep up the good work......I was touched that the children are proud that they can take food back to family members.— April 2, 2011 9:15 p.m.
Public Record Requests Questionable in Chula Vista
Pamela Bensoussan was babbling like a brook about how fast moving the Dynegy situation was citing Blackstone, Carl Icahn, and Seneca. Wonder who was feeding her this line - all the time urgently pressing for the city to assume the responsibility for demolition? Truth is, nothing has changed at Dynegy yet. No hedge fund has taken over nor have they filed for bankruptcy. In the end she was whimpering that she was sick of this and didn't want to look back. That was probably the smartest thing she said since she has to start campaigning for reelection in a few short months. She is surely realizing this is not playing well in Chula Vista.— March 25, 2011 11:08 p.m.
David Malcolm a Negotiator for South Bay Power Plant Cleanup?
Who is lying? Cheryl Cox or David Malcolm? Both? How can you trust Glen Googins who had trouble remembering he was lobbied by John Moot on behalf of a demolition company? Cheryl Cox, Pam Bensossan and Glen Googins took it on themselves, without specific authorization, to spend $216,814 to assist David Malcolm to pursue his "deal ." This is an outrage!!— March 22, 2011 11:41 a.m.
What Can Chula Vista Do with the South Bay Power Plant?
I never voted for David Malcolm nor Laura Hunter. I regret I ever voted for Cheryl Cox and Pamela Bensoussan. Yet because they somehow know what is best they acted as though the end justifies the means. NEVER! Our young men and women are dying in distant lands in the name of our democracy, our freedom. How dare they betray the public trust by cloaking what they are up to in secrecy!— March 16, 2011 6:44 p.m.
South Bay Community Services Looks Good on Paper
ME TOO!! I want to know how much money of the public money is being paid for salaries. I also want to know how much real estate they have title to. But most of all I want to know about their fancy fun bashes they call fundraisers. How much is spent on all that FUN and how much goes to the victims they "serve"?— February 25, 2011 11:37 p.m.
