Oops! NFL team official slips up and tells the truth
As long as there are more suckers and determined yahoos hitting the voting booths than folks with at least an ounce of sense, we will continue to be ^ss #u8ked by the billionaires. The Internet could change that, if it wasn't so clogged with egomania.— February 16, 2013 10:16 p.m.

If you're cunning, nobody knows who you are. You stay out of sight and let the goons do your dirty work.— February 16, 2013 10:08 p.m.

Another water pipe break in Midway District
Has anyone mapped out the locations of the breaks with the infilled land where the San Diego River used to flow into San Diego Bay? If a pipe trench is on solid land in part of its alignment and water-filled sand in another part, will the pipe not be inclined to break at the intersection of the two soil types? What about multiple breaks at the same locations? Which technical fixes (other than just putting in a new section) does the City use?— February 12, 2013 9:45 p.m.

Jacobs says he is bowing out of Balboa Park makeover
A lot of work gets done well beneath the radar too. All of the directors of all of the Balboa Park institutions (Museums etc.) were warned, reputedly by one or more of Mayor Sanders' key staff members that any opposition to the Plaza de Panama project and the Cabrillo Bridge/parking garage design, might jeopardize their City funding. At least one director appears to have been a "plant," with ties to one of the mayor's key staff members. What is needed here is a complete cast of characters and their associates, along with all of their complex connections that make up this tangled web. Don't think for a minute that these people give up easily. Watch for an end-run around the court decision.— February 11, 2013 6:23 p.m.
Jacobs says he is bowing out of Balboa Park makeover
Thanks. I have written elsewhere on this site about park design and transportation issues. The City tends to outsource park design to professional aestheticians who know little about the nuts and bolts of park design. It has long been thus, and most of our parks are poorly-designed.— February 11, 2013 2:15 p.m.
