When Governments Cut Spending, It's Citizens, not Bureaurats, Who Suffer
But the federal government did NOT bail out AIG, Fannie, Freddie, Chrysler, the big Wall Street firms as a favor to labor unions. That is simply not the case. ======== I never meant to imply gov bailed these leeches out as a favor to labor unions (although GM and Chrysler were certainly bailed out for that reason). I was just pointing out NO ONE wanted these bailouts, or almost no one-94% of America were against it-and that tide is the same today-we just cannot run $1.4 trillion deficits bailing every special interest group out......and getting nothing in return but long term debt.— June 18, 2010 9 p.m.

Boosted by Census Hiring, County Adds Jobs in May
Well, figure it out, the average gov employee is paid twice what the average private sector employee is paid. If the average private sector employee pays 25% of him income in taxes (I don't think 25% is accurate, it may be much higher), it would take the taxes of 8 private sector employees to fund just one gov employee. So if 1 million jobs are created, but just 110K, or 11%, are gov jobs, then there is no economic or tax gain at all. Nothing, Zero. It is a wash. The gov employment wipes out any economic growth. Simple math, the gov employees are so over comped that the private sector just cannot support the public sector anymore-and that is killing our economy.— June 18, 2010 8:37 p.m.
Boosted by Census Hiring, County Adds Jobs in May
Gov jobs don't count, in fact we should count gov jobs as a negative in job growth b/c it sucks money from the private sector job growth....— June 18, 2010 4:46 p.m.

Also who does not use spell check these days ? ================ My spell check does not work outside MS Word, and my IE 7 (or is it 8?) does not have the spell check feature like Friefox does......— June 18, 2010 3:02 p.m.
When Governments Cut Spending, It's Citizens, not Bureaurats, Who Suffer
However out government has also stepped in to bail out private unions (via their employers) when the market would have been better served if they had been left alone to fail. Same with the banks, I’m sorry to say. They didn’t change their behavior because they did not have to. By Ponzi ================= You, me and 94% of America felt the same way-there should be have been any bailouts- for anyone. But the 94% of Americans against TARP did not stop the Congress from passing TARP. (BTW-I have not seen 94% of America agree on anything-ever! that was a first)— June 18, 2010 2:53 p.m.

The census tract in which PB Shore Club is located, has alcohol-related crime that is 19 times the city average ============== It is 19 times the City **AVERAGE*** Not "19 TIMES the City's alcohol-related crimes rate". So that was the difference,. Now, 19 times the city average is a big difference in it's own right.— June 18, 2010 11:18 a.m.
OK ????
Well I sure hope it's better than the remake. The American movie is a dog ==================== I never saw the Gere/Lopez remake, but I can vouch for the original :)— June 18, 2010 9:28 a.m.
Army sergeant comes back to San Diego from Afghanistan
Men and woman can and have served our country when we were not at war. =============== Damn right. If I had a chance to redo my life, I would have joined the military for at least 2 years. As I get older I see how important it is to have a strong military, and I also see how important it is for ALL to serve the country in that capacity. I would make 2 years of military service mandatory, for everyone, starting right out of HS. Many countries require military seervice. I t would help our country bond, while also protecting it.— June 18, 2010 9:27 a.m.
