Auditor Spanks San Dieguito H.S. over Bond Disclosures
SP, do you think ANYBODY in the public sector could make it in the private sector? ============= Very few. As I have stated many times before, the gov ranks, from top to bottom but especially at the top, are filled through cronyism and nepotism. So first, they are not getting people based on merit to start out with, and gov emplolyees come to the table with a lower standard than the private sector because of cronyism and nepotism. Second, because of civil service protections incompetence is not only tolerated, but accepted in gov emplolyees. You simply cannot fire incomptetent employees in the gov sector. Third, because there is so much cronyism and nepotism there are discrimination lawsutis at every corner to couter those cronyism and nepotism abuses. And once again, when people are getting hired or promoted on any factor besides merit you have a lower standard. For the record I do not have a problem trying to intergate a gov (or private sector) work force based on prior cronyism and nepotism hiring-just pointing out that it affects quality.— June 22, 2010 7:57 a.m.

The reader blog gang reunion. dbauder was there (he’s a writer for the San Diego Reader) and so were Refried Gringo, Psycholizard, HellcatCopley and Grasca. Ponzi was there wearing a fabulous Armani suit, SurfPuppy619 was in Versace. Burwell was there, as was BradleyFikes. Some of the others that turned out for the event were MsGrant, Visduh and paul. Shadow and Harmsway were on the scene as were wishyouwerehere. Corn dogs and chicken nuggets were served on a table covered with butcher paper. It was a fun time for all and raised absolutely no money! ============= OMG was that funny!....and that is EXACTYLY how it would be written in the society page column!— June 21, 2010 11:08 p.m.

I actually had some professional dealings with this district in the late 90's, and the management/admins were, IMO, extremely bad. Not very bright, and the top administrators are lucky they worked for the gov, they certainly would not cut it in the private sector, at least at the top levels. This was back about 10 years ago though-cannot say if that is still the case today.....— June 21, 2010 11:06 p.m.
Army sergeant comes back to San Diego from Afghanistan
Cuddlefish, I suppose I need to go back over your various postings and I might learn some things about you that I don't know now. I just had you pegged as a bleeding-heart sort, ============== !!!!!!.....it is funny how people react to our political leaning and views based on comments we post here and elsewhere. most think I am some hardcore, anti-union, right wing, bible thumping Republican. In fact I was a registered Democrat, and union spporter (private unions), the majority of my adult life. And pretty much most of my views are far more democratic than republican. Fiscal restraint is about the only platform I really see eye to eye on with Republicans........ I do find it amsuing though!— June 21, 2010 4:39 p.m.
Confessions of a One-Time PB Bum
It sounds like you both got what you deserved. You acted like a prick to a cop and got cuffed and put in the car, ================ Acting like a "prick" is not grounds for arresting anyone Perry Mason Jr. Cops face this sort of verbal bantering from the public all the time, that's what they get paid the BIG BUCKS for, to not let mouthy, smarty pants get to them. If you cannot take a little lip from some smarty pants on the street then you probably should not be a cop. In fact the cop had no legal authority to even cuff the guy, much less put this guy in his car-that is not only a false arrest but also kidnapping. The cop had the legal authority to determnine if the guy was drunk-or had commited some other crime, nothing more. I don't know both sides of the story-but given THIS SIDE, the cop didn't even conduct a cursory investigation before handcuffing the victim. And if that is true then these are constitutional violations. It is a hard job to work PB with all the alcohol problems, but this kind of police conduct does not help, just hurts, the problem. You get some mouthy jerk, just act like the cop you are supposed to be, and don't react to the BS nonsense.— June 21, 2010 4:31 p.m.

A gov agency not being truthful in their bond offerings, I am shocked! Shocked I tell you :) The only thing I am REALLY shocked about is that this school district and their over comped employees didn't try floating bonds EVERY year, because "it's for the children".— June 21, 2010 4:18 p.m.

Strapless gowns on younger, lithe figures can be very flattering, and might I even say glamorous. But on those older women, they usually just don't cut it. ====================== LOL.......Father Time catches up to everyone, and when older folks don't know when to hang it, that is when you have problems.... I agree with the comment, no one wants to see a middle aged flabby woman (or flabby man). I wish people who are vain would understand that-no on eescapes Father Time.— June 20, 2010 1:45 p.m.

So it would appear one of ..... old age affecting memory. ============== Them is fighting words!!!! Perhaps you mean SDGLN but memory may be an issue again. Being a “self-professed gay” as you call it =================== GLN is an obvious reference to SDGLN-the question I have for you is why you would try to make such a MINOR issue out to be some sort of attack on Don's credibility. Here is what you should do-send Don a private messege over these issues-ask him what is up-outline you issues with the timeline- he will respond. Then I would like to see you post Don's response, because I woudl like to see who as wrong here.— June 19, 2010 4:52 p.m.
Boosted by Census Hiring, County Adds Jobs in May
The most egregiously overpaid people in the world are CEOs and Wall Street honchos -- all in the private sector ========= Oh, you will get no argument from me over this issue........— June 19, 2010 10:45 a.m.
