San Diego Gay and Lesbian News, against Gay and Lesbian Times
A lot of thought and reporting went into that terminology, and "boyfriend" was finally selected. I can't reveal the nature of the reportage that went into that. ===================== I would like to get paranoidandroid's response to that though.— June 26, 2010 12:05 a.m.
San Diego Gay and Lesbian News, against Gay and Lesbian Times
FYI, the appropriate terminology, if required, would be "openly gay." ============================== Well, I never would have known that. I assume you are in the know on this issue (and this is correct). No harm, no foul. BTW-what term does Mr. DeMaio use when referring to Mr. Hale??? "Hello, allow me to introduce my________, Mr. Hale" or "Hello, allow me to introduce Mr. Hale, my________"— June 25, 2010 10:47 p.m.
So Much Things to Say
Dang, you're busted, MsG. By the way, Targeted, she has a sidekick, Dr. Peanut. Very dangerous, the two of them. =============== LOL..OK, who is "Dr Peanut"??— June 25, 2010 5:57 p.m.
So Much Things to Say
"Those who chose to live on the streets have decided to make a living off the rest of us." What a short-sighted and insensitive thing to say. The fact is, people are homeless for a wide variety of reasons, many, many times not of their own choosing or control. =============== You nailed it brother-there are a variety of reasons people wind up homeless on the street. While some are mooches, you cannot make a global statement that they all are-or even a majority. I hate it when people (many who have not faced hard times) make such global comments. I had a buddy I used to work with, came from one of the richest and most well known/prominent families in this county, and he used to do this all the time. This trust fund baby was one of the laziest employees we had, and if he had to try to make it on his own-without his family connections (the only reason he was never fired) in this county he would be homeless.— June 25, 2010 5:52 p.m.
Weakening of "Honest Services" Could Affect SD Cases
I think the way around the enslavement-of-corporations-as-persons argument is that corporations are ARTIFICIAL persons, not natural persons under the law. === Then the question is, are they really "persons" if they are artificial? And if that is yes, then why don't/can't we treat them as such and sentence them to jail, death and other criminal statutues?— June 25, 2010 1:03 p.m.
Weakening of "Honest Services" Could Affect SD Cases
The current Supreme Court has been called "conservative." It is not conservative. It is simply pro-business, and pro-scam. ============= It is certainly not representative of the vast majority of Americans. Virtually all of the justices on the SCOTUS come form two law schools, Harvard and Yale-that right there shows how biased the court is (Stevens is from Northwestern, but his replacement is another Harvard grad). The Court is highly activisit-heavily biased in favor of Big Business and gov (see Kelo for proof of that one), as Don said.— June 25, 2010 10:42 a.m.
Weakening of "Honest Services" Could Affect SD Cases
SCOTUS also recently ruled the corporation has 1st ammendment rights because it has been legally defined as a human being =========== That was "Citizen United", an awful decison, and that case along with Kelo v City of New London (eminent domain) are the two worst decisions by the Supreme Court in the last 50 years. On another interesting note, there was a poll released today that shows the Supreme Court enjoys the highest approval rating of any branch of government: http://www.c-span.org/pdf/2010SCOTUS_poll.pdf I guess that is not saying much, but it is still interesting.— June 24, 2010 10:37 p.m.
U-T Axes 34 to 40
when they realize so many of their pimp and ho heroes live in big happy families, and rely on lawyers to enforce their contracts. === That won't enhance their street cred!— June 24, 2010 5:58 p.m.
May New Home Sales Plunge; West Worst. Wall Street Stunned
I think you will see more and more money going to save states and municipalities. The US can't let California go into bankruptcy ==== CA is in big trouble and the senate is not going to let CA get bailed out at everyone elses expense. You need 60 votes there to make the magic happen.........— June 24, 2010 5:56 p.m.
Weakening of "Honest Services" Could Affect SD Cases
RANDALL HAROLD CUNNINGHAM 94405-198 68-White-M 06-04-2013 ============== Duke is set to be out in less than 3 years. If he was smart he would move to get out now based on the SCOTUS's ruling on the honest services issue, and waive any liability he may have against the gov.— June 24, 2010 5:11 p.m.
