U.S. Jobs Report Weak, but Better Than Expected
I think there is a better than 25% chance of a double dip recession. But double dip or not-we are going nowhere fast. Jobs are not being created and the trillion dollar plus budget deficits are almost as bad as a double dip recession. Who knows, it may be worse. I am still PO'd we bailed out AIG/Goldman/Wall St., we should have FORCED those losers into BK court as a flaming signpost of what happens when you gamble with other peoples money. And then tattooed the letters "BK" onto their CEO's foreheads (got that from the movie "Inglorious Bastards"!!) I can guarantee you one thing, if the feds did that you would NEVER, EVER again see 300-1, 30-1 or even 15-1 leverage on Wall Street. The feds should NOT be proping up the states, or anyoen else with these so called garbage stimulas spending. How do you personally benefit through taxes?
I think gov employees benefit the MOST through taxes. Although the things listed are paid for by taxes, they account for less than 20% of tax expenditures, 80% of ALL taxes (and this is true for both state and muni) goes to gov employee pay and benefits, aka compensation. Can you imagines if the average private business spent 80% of their revenue on compensation!!!!!!— September 3, 2010 2:43 p.m.
