Pssst! Howd'ya Like to Retire with $300,000 a Year of Taxpayer Moolah
Everybody awaits the publishing of this study. ============= These so-called studies put out by KFC Sanders and his cronies (like public unions) are not legit-they are nothing more than special interest propaganda thinly disguised as legit research.— September 30, 2010 1:48 p.m.
Pssst! Howd'ya Like to Retire with $300,000 a Year of Taxpayer Moolah
Cant wait for JustClueless to come on here with some of his public employee BS propaganda and try to justify this SCAM. Here, let me state one or two before he even shows up; "Oh, but it SAVES the City money"....... By SurfPuppy619 10:10 a.m., Sep 30, 2010 . . "Then again it may show when all costs are properly calculated it saves or the City makes money on the program. No one really knows." By JustWondering 11:53 a.m., Sep 30, 2010 ================== Told you so. And for the record-Mike Aguirre did do a study on the costs of DROP in 2007, 3 years ago, and at that time it had cost the City over $400 million. That is hardly "saving" money. DROP also costs unemployed people a chance to earn a living b/c the "job" that the public employee has "retired" from is denying a (paying) job to someone out of work and on unemployment insurance-costing everyone big $$$ thru social services- like UE insurance, food stamps, and all kinds of other state social expenses. DROP also denies lower ranked employees their shot at being promoted. DROP is a scam concocted by public unions to line the pockets of the few- muni employees- at the expense of the many, and to fleece the taxpayers. Stop the spinning, won't work here.— September 30, 2010 1:44 p.m.

"We're GOING to be broke?" C'mon, SP, you know better than that. We ARE broke. Best, Don Bauder ==================== My bad. You're 100% correct, as always.— September 30, 2010 10:15 a.m.
Pssst! Howd'ya Like to Retire with $300,000 a Year of Taxpayer Moolah
They're floating on a heavenly cloud now with their $200,000-$300,000 annual pensions, but, yes, Nan, they belong in the ========== Well, tell those clowns to live the life styles of the rich and famous (off of other people's dime) while they can, b/c it is going to be short lived-once this city files for BK those 6 figure pensions are going to be the first item on the BK Court's agenda that takes a haircut.— September 30, 2010 10:14 a.m.

Here, let me state one or two before he even shows up; "Oh, but it SAVES the City money".......LOL....oh, and then this one "It is the employee's money".... We're going broke at every level in this state over public employee pay and benefits-and the ONLY way to stop it is going to be thru the ballot box.— September 30, 2010 10:10 a.m.
Richest 20% Get 49% of County Income; Poorest 20% Get 4%
One of the most interesting parts of study is well down the page and also has a very telling chart about how Median family wealth has grown in recent decades. The biggest gains by far have been made by those in upper income groups. By JustWondering ============= The ONLY familes that have made gains in the last 10-20 years are public employee familes-and the super rich. Everyone else has been squeezed. Take out the public employees and there is a net loss for poor and middle class families.— September 30, 2010 8:57 a.m.
Price Slashes, Improved Team Haven't Helped Padres
Multi-purpose stadiums do not work for professional sports, which is why Qualcomm is the only one still used by a professional football team except for Oakland. =========== Baloney refried-Jack Murphy stadium is one of the BEST in the NFL, it worked great for the Padres for 30+ years..... the ONLY reason there are not other multi purpose stadiums left is b/c the pro teams have hi-jacked and blackballed taxpayers across the nation into fleecing them out of home and food thru taxes for new stadiums they didn't need or deserve......— September 30, 2010 8:55 a.m.
Chula Vista to Cash In on Telecom Revolution? Prop H to Decide
Susan, CV, this county, this state has generated tons and tons of tax money, taxes have been rising and rising, yet there is still not enough to pay the bills, and even less in this depression. We have a $20 BILLION deficit this year, we had a $30 BILLION deficit last year and we are projected to have a $30 BILLION deficit NEXT year. The state has produced an on time balanced budget just 4 times in the last 28 years. But gov employees have seen their overall comp rise far faster than inflation, in some cases - like law enforcement- nearly doubling during the last 10 year time span. Generating money is not going to help when spending is so far out of control. CV has the highest paid public safety in this county-they should start with those making the most, and those are the ff's and the cops in CV. CUT and CAP their pay, make them pay MORE towards their gold plated, Cadillac pensions, and do not let anyone who is taking $$$ be allowed to negotiate the collective bargaining contracts with these monopoly puiblic unions. Working families cannot even put food on the table today. The CA U-6 unemployment rate is at 22%. This depression is likely to last another 2-4 years IMO. We need to start cutting comp for gov employees, b/c 80% of taxes go to employee comp. Just my two cents.— September 29, 2010 6:18 p.m.

I doubt Prop H passes...not in this economy. Time to cut those $200K gov employee com packages.— September 29, 2010 3:22 p.m.
