Mortgage Mess Could Hit Banks, Housing
BofA hired a former attorney general of Virginia and a former deputy assistant U.S. attorney general to help defend themselves against the accusations of wrongdoing in processing foreclosures. They are claiming that the problems found so far are "relatively minor" ============= Follow the money $$$$$$$$$$$$$$— October 28, 2010 3:25 p.m.

SEC: One Touchdown, One Fumble
When Bobby goes to jail and the inmates get through with him his nickname will be Vaseline Vassallo. === I am sort of shocked the guy is not already in jail, in for a long time. I guesss white collar fraud is not viewed as a serious crime in San Diego.— October 27, 2010 11:09 p.m.
Why Did 91X Fire Mookie?
KOME were the stations we listened to. I remember KOME's tagline was "Don't touch that dial - there's KOME on it!!!". When I moved to San Diego in the late eighties, I discovered alternative music and officially fell in love. I remember my sisters visiting me and being appalled at my love of The Smiths. I quickly converted them. ========================== Yes, KOME was a San Jose station, I think.....were they the ones that went to a country format??......And the type of music 91X played, like The Smiths, was just not played on clasic rock type stations. It took a little bit to get used to, but once it hooked you, the alternative/91X music was, and still is, music I prefer.........— October 27, 2010 9:22 p.m.
Public Unions Funding Almost Two-Thirds of Yes on D Campaign, Says Aguirre
Kessler may get soem serious cash, but 7 figures is a little high, but who knows. I do know that if they win and get attorney fees, which they should, then the 7 figure range for total liability is easily within reach. There was a local case about 10 years ago (I think) with an assistant deputy DA who was fired for political reasons, and she sued the DA I think (??) on a 1st Amendment cause of action (don't ask me who the DDA was or who the DA was at the time!!) and the lawyer fees alone (which she received b/c she won) were $750K-just the lawyer fees.— October 27, 2010 7:35 p.m.
Why Did 91X Fire Mookie?
Perhaps he should talk to Chris Cantore. Anyway, I am happy for Robin, who used to do appearances at Emerald City, a Pacific Beach bar ====================== Oh yes, I remember Emerald City......do you recall what it was before that though??? It was a club called Manikin (sp??). I have always been a huge fan of 91X ever since I moved to San Diego back in the 80's.......and what was cool is that there were just not very many alternative stations like 91X, anywhere else in the nation-we never had anything close to 91X in Nor Cal where I grew up in the Bay Area. 91X back then had their corporate office over off of Sea World Drive, right next to the 5, I think that street was PCH, don't really recall. I still have, and value, my black 91X sweatshirt with the yellow 91X logo, bought it at Pacific Eyes and T's (they still around??) back in the mid 80's.— October 27, 2010 7:29 p.m.
Why Did 91X Fire Mookie?
I agree with blue-there is much benefit in letting your anger, in a blog, over being treated unfairly. I did business with 91X back in the 80's and they had problems back then with management. I wish I would remember the clowns name that was there GM back then, Glickenhouse?? Don't recall.— October 27, 2010 5:20 p.m.
Mortgage Mess Could Hit Banks, Housing
Alan Nevin, director of economic research at MarketPointe Realty Advisors, doesn’t take the gloomy view. He agrees that Wall Street shenanigans in selling mortgage-backed derivatives created a problem. “The foreclosures were legal =============== 100% false, the foreclosures were NOT LEGAL. Wjere does he get off making such obvious falsehoods??????? Does Alan not read newspapers or watch the news?? The banks themselves have admitted they were NOT following the law, the legal requirements, for foreclosuring homes. That is why all major banks stopped the process to review their policies and procedures. Watch the video I put up above. Also Steve Wynn of las Vegas spoke on this very subject, and he hit the nail on the head also on why we are in this mess; . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQ4fJH4fgPo .— October 27, 2010 5:16 p.m.
Mortgage Mess Could Hit Banks, Housing
Remember the giddy days of the real estate bubble? Crooked lenders drew up mortgages without keeping track of them. Wall Street packaged them and foisted them off on naïve investors. ========================== Oh, I am so glad you mentioned this. I saw this video a few days ago and it hits a home run on the mortgage/pension/debt scam, and it is MUST SEE for everyone, especially public employees. It is 10 minutes, but watch ALL of it when you have a few minutes; . http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/39855902#… .— October 27, 2010 5:08 p.m.
Mortgage Mess Could Hit Banks, Housing
Peter Q. Davis made a rare showing and responded to some of my comments on the Voice of San Diego blog a few years back. While he was no big fan of mine, he did admit that what I said about employee compensation, specifically the pensions, was valid. I think he liked it when I said I don't get why he (Peter Q. Davis) cannot figure this comp scam out because here was a VERY SMART guy that was the CEO of a major local company. To this day, I find it hard to understand why guys like Peter Q. Davis, who have tons of business experience-much more than any of us here have in pratical terms- don't do more to put a stop to the public pay and pension scams. Don't get me wrong MANY major CEO's all across the country are asking why these comp packages are being gifted out, but there are still many who refuse to step and ask for an end to it-Peter Q Davis is one who won't step up. Having said that, he is a smart guy and I respect his business success.— October 27, 2010 5:04 p.m.
