Encinitas City Council Candidate Tony Kranz Accused of “Attack”
It's funny that more people don't notice the supreme irony of someone assaulting me in the street ==================== Not true; "Everyone has the right to their own point of view-and I agree no one has the right to use force to challenge your view..." San Diego City Auditor Busts Scrap Metal Scheme
Because maybe the Unionized Ones actually want Proposition D to pass? ======================= By tomorrow evening we will know the fate of Prop D. I am going to predict it not only fails, but fails big-as in 2-1 loss. If/when Prop D fails I would hope that our leaders would either make across the baord compensation cuts, progessively, or file BK. But I KNOW, based on everything KFC Sanders has done since taking office, that he will just continue to kick the can down the road making the problem exponentially larger for the next Mayor. Past conduct is the best predictor of future conduct and behavior.— November 1, 2010 8:36 a.m.

I am with Founder 100%. The notion that one party is what caused the financial meltdown here or anywhere else n CA or America is nonsense. Dems have been bought and paid for by public unions, but repugs have gone along with the scams. SB400, aka 3%@50, passed on a 93-7 vote ( or close to that). These pension increases are all voted on, and passed, by both parties. We no longer have parties that represent the working class or poor, they represent two segments of American society, public unions and Big Business, and those two segments own the dems and repugs.— November 1, 2010 8:26 a.m.

When I was a kid,I used to go out to Yuma for Padres spring training but I think that's it. I don't remember any Padres affiated teams based in Yuma ============ Oppsss...yes, Padres spring training was the Yuma connection. Yuma does have nice baseball facilities though-if you have ever been out there, just south of Smuckers Park.— November 1, 2010 8:18 a.m.

California cities unabashedly court retail development because of the sales tax revenue it brings in..... A retailer who doesn't get some sort of help from the host city is a fool. By Visduh ==================== The biggest problem with going after the retail sales tax is that local gov's almost always give away property tax revenue to induce the stores to locate in their jurisdiction, many times for several decades-as in 25-50 years. Donald Trump, when asked if he was ripping off the resdients of NY by asking for 25 years of tax abatment on one of his buildings infamously, said he should have asked for 50 years of tax waivers instead of 25. When you add up how much money is lost from proiperty tax, and how much is gained from sales tax and usually minimum wage jobs, the spread is a net loss by a wide margin.— October 31, 2010 6:31 p.m.
