The Cat That Filled the Hole in Our Hearts
. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jbigrig/5413911003/ . . http://www.flickr.com/photos/jbigrig/5414520800/ . Duhbya Lucy was a beautiful dog........beautiful eyes and coloring.......sorry for your loss. It is like you said, the pain of loss can be so instense. These are family members, when they die part of us dies with them. I only take in rescue dogs. My Teddy seems to be impoving and his x-rays tomorrow morning will show if his pneumonia is receding. Here a couple pics of Teddy; . http://www.flickr.com/photos/57186704@N05/5414295… . . http://www.flickr.com/photos/57186704@N05/5414925… .— February 3, 2011 6:09 p.m.
The Cat That Filled the Hole in Our Hearts
I only work the seniors, because they are the ones who knew a good decent life at one time, if not their entire life, and are in the shelter through no fault of their own. I have no respect for anyone who would dump a defenseless animal in their senior years at a shelter to face nearly certain death. Well, I have to go now, Teddy needs his 1 hour daily visit from me and the Vet closes at 4PM today. I hope is better, and I hope he can go home soon. He has a great adopter waiting for him to get better-in MN!— February 3, 2011 2:43 p.m.
The Cat That Filled the Hole in Our Hearts
Simon was a beautiful kitty, and he lived a good life, and it is true-when our animals die we die, because they are a part of us, I know this feeling all too well. You cannot forget the end, but you will also never forget all the good times you had together.......and the happy times you brought Simon and that Simon brought you. I pulled a senior Pit Bull from an LA Shelter January 23, 10 y/o and partially blind. Teddy is his name, great guy, and he had kennel cough when he left the shelter-like all the animals there because it is a hell hole. Teddy was fine the first 6 days and then one week after I pulled him he got sick and would not eat, this lasted the entire day and by the next morning (4 days ago) he was near death-could not move, nor eat or drink, and had glazed over eyes. I made an emergency appointment with my vet and off we went. Teddy had pneumonia and dog flu (swine flu for dogs) and he almost died. He is still in the vet hospital right now-4 full days, and is better but has not truned the corner. Here is a dog that has had an awfully hard life, but is the most gentle and loving dog you could imagine, and I was not going to let him die like that after just getting him pulled and ready for the good life ahead of him. I hope to bring him home in the next few days.....— February 3, 2011 11:36 a.m.
Escondido Citizen Speaks Out Against Asociación de Charros
You can tell the value of a person and a society by the way they treat those who cannot help them, and how they treat defenseless animals.— February 3, 2011 11:18 a.m.

Startling Naming Rights Deal May Boost Downtown LA Stadium
Armed with a naming contract, a developer could walk into an investment bank and get a loan against the paper. ====== I don't think I would agree with this, it may be possible but far from certain IMO. The naming contract would be over 30 years-and we all know a LOT can happen in 30 years, despite the history and credit worthiness of the company-AIG and GM are two very good examples of companies that went from the largest and most well capitalized in their fields to BK within a decade or less. Plus the naming rights would only be a part of the cash flow needed to service a large stadium loan debt, the gate, TV and other income would need to pencil out too, and like you said, that may be a tough nut to crack in So Cal b/c of all the activities here-especially after two other teams packed up and moved for the very reasons you listed.— February 3, 2011 8:39 a.m.
State Bar's Investigations of Aguirre End with No Charges
We now live in a quasi banana republic, where the law is for sale to the highest bidder. We see it easily at the lowest levels of gov, but also at the highest levels-the Congress and the SCOTUS, where we have basically had the court taken over by radical, activist, conservative judges who are legislating their conservative views from the bench. Roberts, Thomas and Alito are the worst-Scalia not far behind, with Kennedy still a conservative- but he is no Sandra Day O'Connor by any stretch, breaching and violating their sworn duty to uphold the Constitution. The ones charged with enforcing the law- judges and DA's- don't, and instead play politics and give the their cronies protection, while going after preceived enemies. Sad that tehse leaders are in reality not leaders at all. We are not that far off from the Mexican judicial system where if you get pulled over you flash a $20 spot and the ticket is adjudicated there on the spot with a bribe, only we do it with campaign contributions.— February 2, 2011 1:13 p.m.

Startling Naming Rights Deal May Boost Downtown LA Stadium
Did the Spanos family sell a portion of the Chargers recently?? Will they sell more, even a majority of the team??? Al Davis sold a good portion of the Raiders recently, I think it was 33%?— February 2, 2011 1:03 p.m.
Bad Pipe Joint Leads to Pollution in San Diego Bay
Yes-did they fix it? I am going to bet no. Reminds me of the time I called the City of SD to complain about my street's lack of street lights and they PROMISED me one would go in within 6 months-after 9 months came and went I called them back to see what the hold up was and they claimed they had "run out of money" (this was during the boom years of the Repub convention and massive pension increases). I asked why they could have not foreseen that and why no one informed me the job had been cancelled-no reply.— February 2, 2011 7:22 a.m.
