Employment Data Have Economists Scratching Heads
With most folks now bowing down to those with money, I believe that our Country is now in a Financial World War that is being waged not only against the world's poor (as usual) but now also the Middle Class (which is a new twist)... Money and the control of it, will determine the near future of the Planet! Welcome to the U$A ================= Oh you nailed it, bigtime. The rule of law in this country is no longer valid; it is simply for sale to the highest bidder. We live in a neo-feudalist society, and I think its time for it all to go.— February 6, 2011 3:16 p.m.

Employment Data Have Economists Scratching Heads
This is what happens when the Republican Party that used to represent middle and upper class is hijacked by the upper class. This occurred during the Reagan Administration. Since then the Republicans have been dismantling the government agencies that protected the consumer, the environment and regulated business. ============ Ponzi makes excellent points, but can I add that I felt the exact same was about the Democrats in the 1980's, and partially thru the 1990's as he does about Repugs, I was a hardcore Dem until they got hijacked by public employees and their unions. Dems today are a one constituency party- public employees/unions. Very disappointing to me. I bailed. I will never ever be connected to the Dems again, and I was a life long Democrat-now I am Independent. I never liked the Repugs because they always seemed to favor the top 1-2%, at least that is how I saw it-but I do agree with their “limited gov” platform. I was one of the 45% of Californians who voted for Ross Perot in 92-I loved just about everything he had to say. Perot turned out to be a koo koo bird, and as it turned out did not have the negotiating skills IMO to lead the country, but his issues were on the money. Ronnie Raygun cut taxes across the board, but the % of cuts were DRASTICALLY higher for the top 1%. Ronnie called it the "trickle down theory", I called the "bullsh** theory". I think I was right on that one.— February 6, 2011 3:14 p.m.
Carlsbad Police Track Gladys Conrad's Murderer Back to Mexico
I remember this case like it was yesterday-I cannot believe it has been a decade. This guy is the lowest level of slime there is, to attack a senior citizen, a mother and probably a grandmother, like this, it just doesn't get any lower. I hope he gets payback in the Joint.— February 5, 2011 9:33 p.m.
Bridgepoint: Bad for Students, Good for Gamblers?
The chances of cert being accepted are slim and zero-but I at least I got up to the plate and took a few swings. If you're the poor or middle class you're not going to be getting justice at the SCOTUS-they are heavily biased in favor of gov and Big Business due to the ultra conservative make up of the court. On student loan issues they have only taken two cases in the last 20 years, Espinosa (2010) and Lockhart (2005)- and both were decided in favor of government and against the poor (big surprise!!). Thomas rules in favor of the gov 95% of the time. Scalia, Alito and Roberts are not far behind. Kennedy is now the swing vote but he is no Sandar Day O'Connor, not by a long shot.— February 5, 2011 9:23 p.m.
