Case-Shiller Data Suggest Possible Housing Double-Dip
I don't think the baby boomers down sizing their larger homes is going to have much of an impact-that is a wild card question, but I don't see it happening as much as Wayne does.— March 29, 2011 2:43 p.m.
Case-Shiller Data Suggest Possible Housing Double-Dip
Most economists I talk with see the huge inventory out there. =============== Considering mroe than 25% of ALL maortgages in the USA are upside down, and that we also had a morotorium on forclosers for several months by all the major banks, the inventory of homes for sale at depressed prices is going to be aorund AT LEAST another 2-5 years. Maybe even longer than 5 years. We have now seen the infamous "double dip" in the housing sector. Home prices started to decline in late 2006, it is now 2011, and we are **several** years out from any housing recvoery. Without housing construction, which always coincides with job creation, we will continue to be stuck in a depression.— March 29, 2011 2:41 p.m.

As for the five tickets in ten months. After the fourth conviction on safety charges in a year they should suspend the drivers license. A further conviction should mean jail and confiscation of the vehicle. ============== Yes, that is pretty pathetic, and I cannot really defend that kind of driving. But I have never caused an accident, I have never driven under the influence of alcohol or anything else (which is easy because I don't drink).— March 28, 2011 7:05 p.m.

Going to court looking for a loophole to get you out of paying the price for breaking the law is an abuse of the system and drives up the cost to the courts. =================== #1) Going to court is NOT an "abuse of the system", it is a constitutional right. Requiring the state to PROVE it's case is never an abuse. In America we are all presumed innocent until proven guilty. The burden is not to prove I am innocent, but for the state to prove my guilt. . . #2) I have fought every ticket because my first ticket was like my current ticket-a set up. I posted a more lengthy run down on this current set-up above, you can review it and see I am factually innocent, and that is known right now, today. So far it has cost me, to this point before adding in the trial time in April, at least 25 hours of time and a $200 trial bond. BTW the current citation is not a "moving violation", so it would not affect my insurance rates. It is a "correctable violation", a "fix-it ticket" in lay terms. I could have it signed off for $25 and not have spent the time effort and moeny to go to trial, but this was a set-up so I have to go to trial. . . 50 violations? 5 in a 10 month period? ======== I would guess between 40 and 50 in a 25 year period, including 5 in a 10 month period as my worst (only 2 of the 5 stuck, and I was able to get traffic school on 1 so just 1 ticket out of 5 actually went on my driving record, that was more than a decade ago-more like 15 or 20 years ago. I have not had a moving violation conviction in over 9 years- February 2002. I have improved my driving considerably as I have aged.— March 28, 2011 7 p.m.

What are you not mentioning that explains WHY he pulled you over to harass you? Your choice of vehicle? Your appearance? Where and when you were driving? If you are being intentionally harassed, the cops must know you, and there must be more to the story. Care to share? ================ I don't know why the cop acted the way he did is the short answer. 1) The cops do not know me. 2) I have no criminal record. 3) In certain cases if you're driving in a HIGH crime area, in the late/early morning hours, and you are ALSO doing other things that are odd that MIGHT qualify as "probably cause" or "reasonable suspicion" to do some fast questioning. 4) I was 1/4 mile from my gated community at 8:45 PM. There is virtually no drug or criminal activity. 5) My vehicle is a 25 year old, 332K Nissan P/U truck which may have been part of it. Again, I don't know. But one thing I do know is this-he wrote me a VC 5201(g) citation which is your license plate is being obstructed, preventing a REMOTE license plate reading device. This local PD does not have ANY of these remote devices on their marked units/cars (roof mounted), verified by the police chief himself. So that was a perjured lie by this rookie cop (cops sign promise to appear citations "under penalty of perjury"). I have never, ever had a cop question me in this manner. The traffic stop was pretext fpor a fishing expedition, there is no doubt in my mind about that now that I know he did not have the electronic equipment to write the citation; Filed Charges 1 VC 5201G Obstruct reading of license plate by remote sensing device 01/28/2011 ACTIVE 04/28/2011 1:30 PM DEPT. Dad works in Hollywood – I was a Ninja Turtles baby
Oh Mindy-I agree with you TOTALLY, you left out the "Beverly Hill Billies" "I Dream Of Jeannie" and "I Love Lucy" (I still find Lucy as funny today as I did in the 60's growing up watching the re-runs). And I can still see my FAVORITE comedy shows from the old, old days almost everyday -"The Three Stooges"— March 27, 2011 9:54 p.m.
Teen Driver Injures Border Bandit Biker
Border Bandit member Fred said the teenage driver “took an attitude.” Border Bandit member Andy said, “The kid was mouthy, so it was either beat the crap out of him or call the cops.” ============ I would have went with option "A" :)— March 27, 2011 9:50 p.m.
Are American Engineers in Short Supply?
If GE is sufficiently clever to avoid US income tax on many billions of profit, why is its stock in the doldrums? ============== One of my friends received a Masters in Tax after her JD/Law School and she claims 60% of the Fortune 500 pay NO INCOME TAXES, and another 25% pay like less than 10%. Yet on 60 Minutes tonight they did a segment on US companies moving hteir HQ's to low tax countries to avoid the 35% US corporate tax rate.— March 27, 2011 9:48 p.m.
WOMEN NEED TO HAVE RESPONSIBILITY AND,,,
A comment on this blog site about my satire of Adam and Eve has stated that men "are the murderers and rapists," which certainly doesnt display logic. ================================= I take it you have never heard of Michigan Law Proefssor Catharine MacKinnon-you'll love her thoughts on the issue (all men are potential rapists).— March 27, 2011 4:33 p.m.
