The Hit Man I Can't Forget
Now, I'm facing homelessness and you just have to wonder why things turned out the way they did. My daughter, when she hears of the past, says, "Gosh, Mom, you came so close." I did. I came close. ======================== If you value your life by how big your pocket book is you're losing out. I compete against myself, not how much money is in my pocket, which something that is dependant on multiple factors beyond anyones control.— May 8, 2011 8:39 p.m.

"your blog which, to be frank, treats its readers as though they never went to grammar school" would u be willing to change that to middle school homey??? ;-D ======================== I would try for "Jr. High School" Nan!!!! BAM!— May 8, 2011 8:35 p.m.

Thanks for the link Fred.....It cracks me up that Golding was basically "appointed" to pretty much all her gov jobs-ala Alan Bersin- except for Mayor and if memory serves me she beat Peter Navarro by less than 1% point back in 92 (and that was as close as Poor Pete ever got to elected office). The thing I remember most about Silberman (besides the suicide attempt) was he hired one of the best-and most expensive- criminal lawyers in the nation when he got charged with those felonies-James Brosnahan of Morrison and Foerster. Brosnahan is as big a gun as they come.— May 8, 2011 8:07 p.m.
U.S. Jobs Rise Sharply but Unemployment Rate Up
We all must realize that it will be a long, long climb back out of this. ============ We're no better off today than we were in 2007. I predict we will be in the same boat in 2013 as we are right now. The Investment Banks own the gov regulators and they have wiped out the indutrial base that drives the backbone-and tax base- of America.— May 7, 2011 7:39 p.m.
Desert Oasis in Indian Canyons, Palm Springs
I love the Palm Springs area...little too hot June through August, but the rest of the year it is awesome. I still need to ride the tram!— May 7, 2011 2:32 p.m.
Vallejo to Emerge from Bankruptcy -- Bruised
#1- I was not referring to "family" income. #2- Fringe beenfits for the real world are between 0%-25%, byt the majority of all private sector jobs offer no benefots, no pension, no paid vacation or holiday time off. Fringe beenfits for the Vallejo PD/FD were more than 60% of base salary using Calpers numbers on ROI, if using realistic ROI numbers it is easily more than 100% of base salary.— May 6, 2011 4:43 p.m.

post-mortem exams reveal the presence of cocaine and alcohol in her system. ===================== Very sad, but there has to be more to it than coke and booze.— May 6, 2011 9:13 a.m.

Chico has cracked down on the party times there. Do you recall "Pioneer Days" @ Chico State, the week long spring break drunkfest that was similar to the ones we had here in Palm Springs during Spring break-well they canned Pioneer Days many years ago and turned over a new leaf, just as Palm Springs did the same to shut down that towns wild psrty days. I recalled one really wild Spring break week in the late 80's in Palm Springs where there were basically riots, and that was the end of it there.— May 6, 2011 9:12 a.m.

RE: "we had Golding (yes, father of SD's glamor girl mayor, Susan) for a mercifully brief few years" :: I never knew that! Was this before Day?— May 6, 2011 9:09 a.m.
16 arbitrations and 4 written demands registered against WFP Securities
how about posting a link so we don't have to spend hours hunting it down???— May 6, 2011 9:08 a.m.
