16 arbitrations and 4 written demands registered against WFP Securities
On the way up to our room, my ex stopped by the casinos and subsequently lost his shirt. He was in a bad mood, and when we got to the room, he said, "I want you to know Melinda, you made a fool of yourself tonight. I'll bet you would have slept with that guy if you could have." I stop what I was doing, turned to look at him, and said, "Now there's a bet you should have placed." ======================= LOL!!! I will say this, Tom Jones does still have the voice, and I am AMAZED he does, the guy must be at least 75-80 years old..... I was a BIG fan when I was 7 or 8 and he had a TV show that always opened with his hit tune "It Aint Unusual", one of the all-time best songs of the 60's/70's. He rocked it! He has been married for decades, so more power to Tom!— June 3, 2011 10:40 p.m.

May Jobs Growth Anemic, Unemployment Rate Rises
We are looking at a 5-10 year depression. It has already be 4 years, and we are not looking any better than 2007.— June 3, 2011 9:03 p.m.
Sheriff Looking To Order Some Heavy Iron
Meanwhile, the department has put out a "request for quotation" on six 40MM Single Launchers equipped with EOTech 512 sighting devices from Defense Technology, an arms maker based in Casper, Wyoming. ===================== What a bunch of IDIOTS! This is what happens when you allow law enforcement to have an educational requirement of just a GED, you get mental morons preparing for a WAR again the citizens. There is NO legit need for this kind of fire power. None.— June 3, 2011 9:03 p.m.

Government Waters Down For-Profit College Regulations
The GOP has a philosophical belief that private enterprise can do a better job of serving society in many ways than can another governmental program. So it is with these colleges. =================== Good post-but the problem, as you point out, is OPM. The solution is very simple, make these "schools" carry their own paper. Not the US Government/taxpayers in the form of student loans. Lets see how fast they raise tuition when they are not paid for their so called "education" because the grad has no job or has a job but makes no money. I would force the schools to do this, I would force banks to do the same thing with mortgages/trust deeds. Don't allow financial institutions to bundle, securitize and sell mortgages on the secondary market-make the lender HOLD and service THEIR own loans. That will fix the fraud problems real fast.— June 3, 2011 2:01 a.m.
Government Waters Down For-Profit College Regulations
There is a story in another section about a class action lawsuit against Thomas Jefferson Law School here in San Diego. Has to do with employment stats and fraud. My comment on that story is true of probably 75%-90% of all ABA law schools in America, the MAJORITY of the grads (well over 50%) will never work as lawyers, and will never be bale to pay back the $100K-$200K they borrowed to pay for the schooling.— June 3, 2011 1:57 a.m.
Vallejo to Emerge from Bankruptcy -- Bruised
I question that the majority of private sector jobs offer no benefits, no pensions, no paid vacations or holiday time off. ================ 41% of ALL jobs in America today are minimum wage, or within a $1 of minimum wage, and I guarantee you the benefits are zero for most of them. It is not hard to see the majority of American jobs today having no benefits. When I worked at Trader Joe's 75% of the labor was from the part timer employees. NO benefits of any kind whatsoever. very common.— June 2, 2011 10:10 p.m.

Trustee Asks San Diego Unified Staff to Fold on Taking Raises
I have over 4 years of post graduate work in education. ================ A graduate degree IN education is not a serious graduate education. Every college in America offers a cream puff MA in education, usually tied to the teaching certificate, and they are not difficult to get into nor to pass. Go try to get into a law school and see how easy it is when 250K people take the LSAT for 30K open slots. An MA in Education is not nMS in Astro-Physics. . Anyone in any other industry with this much education makes well over the average teacher salary. ================ 100% false. Teachers are comped FAR MORE than private sector industries. A private sector school teacher is comped 65%-75% LESS than a public school teacher. Heck, there is an article on this webite just 2 days old about a law graduate (an education light years harder than a teacher education) who cannot find work as an attlrneyh after being out of LS for 3 full years. So your claim that you don't make as much money as others in the private sector is completely bogus. . http://www.manhattan-institute.org/html/cr_50.htm . . You mention numbers are 80-150 dollars an hour. I have been teaching for almost 8 years and I do not make anything near that. ================= I did not say you "made" that. I stated the AVERAGE COMPENSATION, not salary but total compensation, for a CA state teacher. It is $68K in cash and another $40K in benefits, for working a part time 37 week work per year job, and part time work week of just 36 contracted hours. That is in the top 2-3% in the nation in hourly comp. . In fact, I have taken pay cuts and used more of my own money to support my students as there have been site cuts as well. ================= I am not aware of ANY district in the state that have given PAY CUTS. A Furlough is NOT a pay cut, it is a furlough day, you don't work. I am not going to even mention the bullet proof job security a teacher has, which is a value equal to at least 30% of the base salary.— June 2, 2011 2:07 p.m.
