Mel Shapiro's Lawsuit Against the District Attorney's Office
Which statute is violated when malicious prosecution occurs? How much evidence is needed for conviction? Any civil remedies? ============================= You usually file a lawsuit in federal court suing the cops and any private persons who contributed to the bogus charges under 42 USC sections 1983 and 1988-unfortunately the DA and her minions are 100% immune from suit. You need a perponderance of evidence-anything over 50%, and it is 100% civil.— June 8, 2011 12:29 a.m.
Oprah Winfrey Picks Up Bob Filner's Freedom Riders Tab
Her company Harpo Productions paid $954.65 to fly him from San Diego to the Windy City and back to Washington, plus another $366.58 in lodging expenses at the Omni Hotel and $105.74 for meals, as disclosed on the travel report subsequently filed by the congressman. ================== The Omni is a NICE hotel, all of Oprah's guests stay there, and it is sweet!— June 8, 2011 12:16 a.m.

On the other hand, I'm not totally convinced that a SD cop or deputy can deal with some of the low-lifes they encounter by opening a conversation with "I say, my dear chap, that you might reconsider that knife you are brandishing..." ============= LOL! Good point!— June 7, 2011 6:32 p.m.

Incest: The SEC and Wall Street
Gov regulation of the financial sector is a joke, a joke that is going to kill the county.— June 6, 2011 11:19 p.m.
Government Waters Down For-Profit College Regulations
Did the rapid growth of the for-profit universities have anything to do with these legislative changes? ============= Yes they did. Once the for profit, and many so called non profit, schools were able to get qualified for the student loan money the lenders went gang busters lending out money that could not be dishcraged in BK, and since the lenders had NO RISK, the gov paid back the lenders for all defaults, it became onne of the biggest financial scams in America. The fact is this scam has been documented for at least the last decade now, and the Big $$$$ just keeps buying off the Congress. These BK laws are not int he system to stop poor people from ripping off the system, it is for the connected few to rip off the poor. Read Pottow's law review article-he lays it out crystal clear. Or read Rafael Pardo's law review articles; . http://www.law.washington.edu/directory/profile.a… . . http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_i… . . http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_i… . "The information gathered in this study illustrates that debtors who have sought relief from educational debt have done so under conditions evincing financial distress. This portrait starkly contrasts with the image of an opportunistic debtor seeking to avoid repayment of student loans on the eve of a lucrative career, a stereotype stylized by courts on the basis of what they have deemed to have been Congress's intent when it made educational debt conditionally dischargeable" That says IT ALL RIGHT THERE! Or read Alan Collinge's books "The Student Loan Scam"; . http://www.amazon.com/Student-Loan-Scam-Oppressiv… . The student loan scam is the biggest threat to poor people from the education industrial complex today.— June 6, 2011 11:16 p.m.

No, that would be 2 in a million. Use of the word and links them together, denoting each incident as part of the same catagory/classification ============= No, they were not linked, they were two seperate and distinct incidents and were presented as such, not as part of the same "catagory/classification". Keep up junior, you might learn a thing or two.— June 6, 2011 11:06 p.m.
