Man Hides From Cops in Attic
I wonder whether Castaneda has grounds for a lawsuit against the San Diego Police. He was not actively resisting arrest when he was attacked by the dog, he was merely hiding. ============== Depends on how bad he was hurt and if the police ordered the dogs to release him as soon as he complied with the cops orders to come out of the attack. Under the law the police can use the "amount of reasonable force necessary to effect an arrest", if he refused to come out the cops had to use force to get him out, the question is how much is reasonable and necesary under the circumstances. If you were on a jusry and heard this you would look at his innuries and ask yourself if that is reasonable for the circumstances.......— June 24, 2011 midnight

Your reaction reminds me of a first year law student let loose on the public ================== LOL...funny comment, b/c it is true. Same with cops, they learn a little crim law and procedure and are then Perry Mason!— June 23, 2011 11:46 p.m.
Union-Tribune Edits Out Name of Owner
That is an interesting case. The guy who lost all the money-and was appearantly an AWFUL poker player- ran a hedge fund that in reality was a ponzi scheme, and Toby McGuire alone took him for over $300K according to new sources. Who would have guessed! I have to laugh that these high flying big buck celebs are caught up in this scam. Of course you won't see any criminal charges filed against these "connected" celebs! Two sets of laws in America today-those for the connected few and those for everyone else-the rest of US.— June 23, 2011 10:28 p.m.

Bank Patron Bites Robber
The violent motions involved not only with the bite, but also with the suspect trying to free his appendage could easily cause a microscopic tear or opening in the gums at the tooth line. ========= Can you verify this comment with an actual case?— June 23, 2011 10:23 p.m.
Bank Patron Bites Robber
swapping body fluids with a stranger is not a good plan ============== Human bites are EXTREMELY dangerous because the bacteria in human salivia is much higher than in animals, with the chance for a serious infection much greater. Unless the perp was bleeding and the biter had open sores or wounds inside the mouth the chance of the biter getting an infection or virus is very slim, almost zero.— June 23, 2011 10:57 a.m.
