Lyric Opera Poised to Sell North Park Theatre
Founder, this is just around the corne from your homestead! When I was in commercial real estate back in the 1990's I had a client that wanted to buy this theater, but the City owned it and like most things with the gov they screwed it up beyond fixing! They had the 1987 Mr. San Diego (bodybuilding) in this theater, and Jerry Rodgers won that show! Jerry later went on win the Nationals and after Nationals took 2nd in the Mr. Universe, and became a professional BBer. Good guy. Good memories of this place.— July 8, 2011 9:42 p.m.

Taxpayers' Association Forms, Takes On Insurance Companies
They need to focus on PUBLIC unions as well. Public unions are a BIGGER threat to the poor and middle class taxpayer than insurance companies are-but insurance companies need to be reined in too.— July 8, 2011 8:06 a.m.
Job Gains Shockingly Low. Double-Dip?
I called it in 2008-I said we were so upside down in trust deeds/mortgages that we were headed for a 3-5 year downturn, and I was wrong. It now appears this is going to be a 5-10 year downturn.— July 8, 2011 8:04 a.m.

Who Plays Who: City Pension 401(k) Battle Edition
Time to restore the middle class by bringing back a strong Union movement, import tariffs and an end to not the Bush taxcuts, but doing away with the Reagan taxcuts for the rich! ================================ I agree with everything you said, except the part of a strong "union" movement-which is fine as long as that movement does NOT include PUBLIC unions. I would slap a tariff on everything imported, because China, Japan, India and the others do not play by the same rules we play by. But ike I said, the BIGGEST threat to the poor and middle class today are PUBLIC unions, who are buying off politicians on the local and state level and in return getting compensation packages 10-20 times that of the private sector (including up to $10 million dollar pensions), which is paid for through REGRESSIVE taxes like the sales tax (ask KFC Sanders about Prop D). This in a state where the median income for the private sector is $31K per year, while the median PENSION for a state employee with 30 years of service (retired after 2009) is $68K in pension salary and another $25K in medical. That number is much HIGHER for local pension systems like San Diego city and county. I have to laugh at the firewhiner unionn puppet above because he cliams firewhiners are "middle class', while the avergae firewhiner (and cop and prison gard-all GED jobs) are comping $200K per year, which puts all of them in the top 4% of income earners in the nation. That is NOT middle class. And that is before OT, where they can add on another $50K-$150K in overtime. That is 10-15 times the median income for the state private sector employee, and 20-30 times the income for a GED educated pivate sector employee. Pulic unions should not be allowed collective bargaining, because there is no bargaining for taxpayers.— July 7, 2011 5:58 p.m.
National City to Allow Sale of Three-Packs
Yes, a politician claiming they CANNOT TRUST the public!!!.....how funny. The ONLY thing that could have made it even funnier is if KFC Sanders had said it!— July 7, 2011 5:51 p.m.
