Have you ever had to call 911?
I had to call 911 for the first time in my life on May 9, 2011. Two of my dogs got into a little tussle and during the process of seperating the two rascals my senior Pit Bull- who has NO front teeth -bit my ring finger with her back teeth-freak accident. But it was a pretty bad laceration and she also broke my finger tip bone, 911 was mandatory, I could not drive to the hopsital ER.— July 28, 2011 6:36 p.m.
California Last in Jobs Creation
California's leaders have slashed funding for schools and universities in recent years, so expect the educational situation to get worse. ====================== CA has certainly slashed funding for CC, CSU and UC, but NOT education. K-12 is legally entitled to over half our general fund revenue via Prop 98, and in addition to more than HALF our general fund revenue from Prop 98 virtually EVERY school district in this state floats million/billion dollar bond issues every two years. CA has the highest paid teachers, by far, in the entire nation. We have LOUSY education here because of the public teachers union. Public teachers are paid 4 times that of private sector teachers, yet have 100 times the job security. There is a DIRECT correlation with the rise of the CA public teachers union and the decline fo CA public education and test scores. I know it, I have seen it first hand, I have worked it, I have lived it. It is a joke. Not a pretty site.— July 28, 2011 6:27 p.m.

Who Watches the UCAN Watchdog?
I Googled this-it was Zucchet. Zucchet served as a San Diego city council member from November 2002 to July 2005. Zucchet worked at the Utility Consumers' Action Network (UCAN) as a Project Manager in 2006. He was making a cash salary of $225 or $250K as I recall-it was OUTRAGEOUS!!!! Z ucchet became acting Mayor after Dick Murphy resigned July 15, 2005. But three days later, he too resigned after he was convicted in U.S. District Court of one count of conspiracy, five counts of wire fraud and three counts of extortion. This was in connection with a scheme involving fellow City Councilman Ralph Inzunza to get the city's "no touch" laws at strip clubs repealed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Zucchet . I remember interviewing with UCAN when I graduated from college, and they were paying essentially minimum wage for a college graduate. I think it would have been a very cool job, but the pay was a joke, a 100% deal killer. So when I hear stories like Zucchet-who was a convicted felon- I really am glad I stayed away from them.— July 27, 2011 6:33 p.m.
