UCSD's New Vice Chancellorship for "Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion" Draws Critical Blast
The California Legislature needs a Bill to oversee higher education salaries, tuition. ===================== The California Legislature is the reason why the system is so screwed up. 30 years ago you could go to a CC for free, go to a CSU fulltime for $150 tuition per semeseter and a UC for $300 per semester. 11% of the CA budget went to higher education (CC-CSU-UC) and only 3% went to prisons. Today 3% goes to higher education and 12% goes to prisons. Get the picture now??????? We are more concerned with making GED educated prison guards millionaires than investing in the FUTURE of this state and our country.— July 29, 2011 11:36 p.m.
Have you ever had to call 911?
I do not have a cell phone, so if anyhting outside of my homestead goes down I would not/am not in a position to dial 911. I too have seen suspected drunk drivers-in fact I saw one this past Sunday afternoon, and I WISH in instances like those I did have a cell phone. My biggest regret in life was driving under the influence on as a teenager and young adult. I look back on it and am ashamed of how stupid and dumb I was. But I have always been able to learn from my stupid mistakes.— July 29, 2011 4:40 p.m.
Who Watches the UCAN Watchdog?
The question about salary might be - is it commensurate with other nonprofit directors' salaries ==================== No, it has nothing to do with what anyone else was making. If Zuchett was pulling down $250K while the grunts on the front linex, the employees doing the REAL WORK and are only getting $20K-$25K, then you have problems. Zuchett was connected in. He was paid 10 times what the hardcore frontline workers were receiving. That is all you need to know-IMO- to know mismanagement there was rampant.— July 29, 2011 4:36 p.m.

Realtors Frustrated with Short Sale Lenders
Lenders are idiots, because there are really just a handful of them due to consolidation, which menas less competition in the lending and lower customer service. Less Competition= Lower Customer Service— July 29, 2011 4:26 p.m.
Who Watches the UCAN Watchdog?
The reality is that Don wants to try to paint UCAN as a mismanaged, out-of-control non-profit. =============== Paying Zucchet $250K, or whatever it was, while everyone else gets close to minimum wage is a pretty good indication of mismanagement to me (and out of control as to the $250K salary).— July 29, 2011 1:19 p.m.
