Failure to Extend Payroll Tax Break, Jobless Pay Could Hurt, Says Economist
Very interesting, Covette/car sales as an economic indicator. And the Corvette could very well be a good indocator because it is not a car the super/uber rich buy, but more or less middle/upper middle class Americans buy. I wonder if that sales relation matches up on the last recession.— December 22, 2011 8:32 p.m.
U.S. Dentist Fears Patient Safety, Income Loss From Cross-Border Competition
With all the drug war violence going on, with cops you cannot trust, and with the lax standards, I'll get my teeth fixed by an American dentist on this side of the border, and treat the extra cost as money well spent. == Excelelnt points, and I cannot disargee, but what if you DO NOT have the $$$$? As many Americans today do not. / / If you genuinely cannot afford the needed procedures, many dentists will work out accommodations, such as stretched out payments and reduced "hardship" fees. == My dentist will let me pay by installments, in adbvance. Plus with no insurance he gives a 15% cost break, but the fact remains- if you don't have the $$$ you cannot get the treatment.— December 22, 2011 8:24 p.m.
U.S. Dentist Fears Patient Safety, Income Loss From Cross-Border Competition
And another law decreeing that donuts make you skinny. = Dont tease me!— December 22, 2011 8:23 p.m.
U.S. Dentist Fears Patient Safety, Income Loss From Cross-Border Competition
1.If the choice is between going toothless or risking Mexico, clearly people are choosing the latter. == Excellent point, w/o the Mexican dentists many poor and middle class Americans would be forced to go without dentistry services. / I have many friends who frequent Tijuana dentists and they've been quite happy with results. == Same here, know many people, mainly seniors living on fixed budgets............ but when things do go sideways there is no recourse.— December 22, 2011 8:22 p.m.
U.S. Dentist Fears Patient Safety, Income Loss From Cross-Border Competition
"Marcy Ortiz, an Arizona dental hygienist and author of the article, details the problems American dentists face in trying to compete in an environment where insurance, wage standards, and regulatory agencies don’t allow them to come close to matching prices found in Mexico." == PLEASE, the biggest expense in US dentistery is the COST OF THE DENTIST. Dentists are the highest paid professionals out there with the possible exception of MD's with highly specialized surgical skills. Average Dentist probably clears $400K per year. Working 4 days per week no less-as bad as teachers.— December 22, 2011 8:21 p.m.
Chicago Sun-Times Bought for About $20 Million
This sale once again raises a local question: did Papa Doug Manchester really pay $110 million for the Union-Tribune, permitting Platinum Equity to double its investment? == If he paid $110 million for the UT-why didn't he buy it 3 years ago for $50 Million instead of Gores???? I don't buy the $110M. In fact if he paid $50M he still paid too much. The ONLY UT value is the real estate, and it is substantial once the market turns, but that is not going to happen for 5-10 years, maybe longer- Machester won't even be alive when the market turns.......................— December 22, 2011 8:18 p.m.
Alan Bersin's "Our Border" Site Goes Offline
At least he never was confirmed-which validates the fact that he is unqualified and doesn't have the skill to perform the job.— December 22, 2011 8:13 p.m.
Alan Bersin's "Our Border" Site Goes Offline
Why can't he just chase ambulances and represent guilty people like other lawyers do? == Because he would never be able to compete on a level playing field, even as an ambulance chaser....... Bersin can ONLY survive with his "connectiond" who gift him "appointed" positions, that are gifted to him based on cronyism.— December 22, 2011 8:13 p.m.
Alan Bersin's "Our Border" Site Goes Offline
Unfortunatetly yes, that is exaclty what it means, as soon as one of his cronies "connects" him into other "appointed" position. I would bet with my life with the Devil that Bersin would go bankrupt within 6 months if he had to ever hang out his own shingle as a lawyer and make hsi own living.— December 22, 2011 8:11 p.m.
Failure to Extend Payroll Tax Break, Jobless Pay Could Hurt, Says Economist
I do agree taxes could be raised on corps, and tariffs on foreign goods should be placed on countries who do not have the same regulatiosn we do.— December 21, 2011 9:49 p.m.
