The return of the Chargers scandals
My mother was the brains of our family: she went through school, from first grade through college, without ever having a grade lower than A == And back then an "A" was an "A"! Today grade inflation has diluted the value of a 4.0 average. At Harvard Law Shcool 91% of the graduates graduate with "Honors". Same with Stanford.— March 5, 2012 3:18 p.m.

60.I would agree that those in government - who are expected to represent the PUBLIC interest - may be worse than those in private industry == On the national level Big Business is the problem, on the local and state level it is public unions, and they are BOTH major problems.— March 5, 2012 3:15 p.m.
Were UCAN Books Audited? Cooked?
This is a mystery tha needs solving, we need Scooby Doo and his crew to solve it!!!!!— March 4, 2012 9:07 p.m.

And it can be argued that in his effort to save the dumb citizens of San Diego from themselves, Henderson actually cost them more money in the long term == No way can you make that argument refried. Everything Henderson said was true, and if he had succeeded in stopping that Petco Park scam this City would be HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of dollars in LESS debt. Henderson is a contracts lawyer and he is the ONLY person in an elected position who ever had the brain power to point out the scams.........— March 4, 2012 12:20 a.m.
Ex Carlsbad Attorney Patricia Gregory to Serve One Year in Jail
No one deserves to be MURDERED, not Dan Broderick and certainly not his new wife. BB killed them in cold blood. But he was a major contributor to the families meltdown and problems by being an underhanded, manipulative scammer. His behaviour was well documented at the trials and the first trial was hung based on his behavior. So he certainly was a major part of the meltdown. I felt sad for the children, they lost their father, and then their mother was sent to prison for life. That is so sad and awful that those kids had to go through that. Dan AND Betty were BOTH to blame IMO. And their children are the ones who suffered. BTW, there is a Dan Brodeick IV who was hired to run Busienss Real Estate Brokerage in UTC, I assume that is their son- he was just a young boy when this all went down.— March 4, 2012 12:15 a.m.
How Shames Threatened UCAN Staff with Mass Firings
As I remember it, as is typical, every Repub voted against the budget bill in the House and Gore ended up having to cast the deciding vote in the Senate == I remember this vote-but do not recall what it was over. The entire system is rigged, so I am surprised that lobbying is not tax deductible. Saw a GOOD interview on Bill Moyers last night-I have never watched this guy but was told about this segment-and it is spot on; “Winner-Take-All Politics” by authors Hacker & Pierson In its premiere episode, Moyers & Company dives into one of the most important and controversial issues of our time: How Washington and Big Business colluded to make the super-rich richer and turn their backs on the rest of us. Bill’s guests – Jacob Hacker and Paul Pierson, authors of "Winner-Take-All Politics: How Washington Made the Rich Richer — And Turned Its Back on the Middle Class"", argue that America’s vast inequality is no accident, but in fact has been politically engineered. http://billmoyers.com/episode/on-winner-take-all-…— March 3, 2012 11:35 a.m.
Angry Pizza Man
He received a moving violation while out on bail in August. == OK, he was out on bond. So he is doing 13 months for two robbery convictions. I can't imagine they would not be strikes, except that strikes are considered violent and I thought **required** state prison and 85% of the sentence to be served. But I guess this is all wheel and deal type stuff, where the judge and prosecutor can bend the rules and do whatever they want under "discretion".— March 3, 2012 11:15 a.m.
Angry Pizza Man
Yes, a pellet or BB gun could in a worst case scenario cause a death, but it is so unlikely I question if they could make that stick. I guess that would qualify as "dangerous" though. As for pepper spray, I guess it too is a "dangerous" weapon. It is not deadly, but I guess dangerous is a term that could be applied. The entire system is a mess because the discretion is 90% of the system, where one person is sent to the slammer for 10 years for some minor non violent crime and a guy like this gets 13- 22 months of local jail. BTW, was he out on bond between the February arrest and the booking date of September??— March 3, 2012 11:12 a.m.
