Jared Laughner had previously diagnosed mental problems as I recall, and was definitely giving off strong mental disturbance signals prior to his deadly outburst, and he did not have anything near the intellect as this guy did-as I recall Laughner was in a community college. Regardless, no one does an act like this without some deep rooted mental disorder IMO. You have to have a disorder to do this. Normal people don't do these things.— July 22, 2012 11:20 p.m.

This was interesting I think on the murder rates internationally; http://www.guncite.com/gun_control_gcgvintl.html#… "Gun death" statistics are frequently cited, in the manner above, to strongly suggest that guns are the cause behind the high violent death rate in the U.S. As in the case of the Los Angeles Times article, no mention is made that over half of those violent deaths are suicides. The CNN article mentions gun homicides and gun suicides, but fails to show us the total violent death rate of other countries, not just gun deaths. For example, in Japan, where gun ownership is rare, its total suicide rate is higher than our total suicide rate. Combining gun suicide and homicide deaths creates a sensational comparison with other countries, but only clouds and distorts the many factors actually behind violent death rates. Anyone that does this kind of act is unstable mentally/insane. The problem is the insanity defense fails about 99% of the time it is invoked, even if accurate. I was off on the % of murders by population but correct in pointing out that their gun murder/violence rate may be much lower by %, their other forms of violence/murder are higher by %.— July 22, 2012 1:43 p.m.

First off, I said "COMP", not "MAKE", and they ALL "COMP" in the $200K+ range before OT. You sound like the typical GED educated, unskilled/semi skilled cop that has the brain power of a circus chimp. Compensation is pay PLUS everything else, including the multi million dollar "retire" at age 50 pensions. And it is very common to easily get $50K in OT, some are getting $150K in OT. And cops do not have any "high skill set", that is so laughable I almsot spit my milk up on the computer screen, they are GED jobs with on the job training- you didn't go to college or any other institution of higher education to get hired, you were hired and PAID to go thru occupational training. And leave it to someone like you to make the bogus claim that cop put their life on the line.... 7-11 graveyard shift employee is 100 times more dangerous than cop. You cops are no different than any other semi skilled occupation. I personally think you are the cop in the story, or you are one of his buddies since you just joined here 2 days ago and this is the only story you have commented on................LOL pretty soon you're going to come out with that whopper that you clowns all die 2 weeks after you retire. Last, as to your comment that you can "not run your mouth" at a cop, are you saying the 1st Amendment no longer applies when addressing cops?? It is just the inmate search for the county, and James Holmes, if you plug his name in, is there and it shows his charges and no bail status. He killed a 6 year old girl. Killing a child is far worse than killing na adult, they have not had a chance to live yet. Death penalty for this guy.— July 22, 2012 10:39 a.m.
