This is the same bench before refinishing. I guess you have to decide which is more appealing.
BTW- do you have you do any sanding before appling the sealant/finish?????— November 3, 2012 9:54 a.m.

Jim Grant restores public benches at Sunset Cliffs
Jim, one pic = 1,000 words. You are doing a fantastic job, i wish the city employees would take pride in their jobs and perform them like you are (doing this work pro bono no less). The refinished benches are beautiful, keep up the good work.— November 3, 2012 9:53 a.m.
Former Charger Seeks Seat on Sweetwater Schools Board
**On being gay and playing football: “An open gay policy for the NFL? Of course. Then we could have open gay receivers prancing over the middle instead of running manly patterns. Then we could have openly gay quarterbacks getting behind the center and going on a long, long count.”** Look, I am not a gay cheerleader, but comments like this should not be tolerated by anyone, especially a teacher. Sorry, he is not a good choice IMO. And some of the other comments were very inflamatory too.— November 3, 2012 9:48 a.m.
UCAN: More damning emails surface
Putting UCAN money into a hedge fund is an absolute violation of fiduciary responsibility for a non profit consumer watchdog. Shames could easily be personally sued and held liable for the losses.— November 3, 2012 12:41 a.m.
Who's Mr. Clean? Larry Remer? Voice of San Diego?
Good history there!!!! Did Smith OWN or just develop the 5th Avenue Financial Center (Mr. A's Building at Laurel and 5th)??????? Don, did you know Jim Copley very well????— November 3, 2012 12:35 a.m.
Deputy District Attorneys walking: campaign cash for death penalty, GOP's Danon, and Amador
As I said, the system does not work properly, I never said I want to "abolish it". If it DID work I would support the death penalty100%, 100% OF THE TIME. But it doesn't, it varies from county to county and the biggest factor is the amount of $$$ one has. The best example is OJ Simpson, He was an easy call for the DP, EASY. But the LA DA did not go after him with the DP, WHY??? 1) He was famous, 2) he had $$$$ and 3) he had connections. If OJ was some poor ghetto kid without a dime to his name he would have been charged with the DP and convicted, as he would not have had a $2 million defense fund to get Johnnie, Carl and Shapiro to work their magic..........the ones who "manage to avoid" the DP are the rich, the powerful and the connected, so if they don't face it why should the poor??????? Make it fair or get rid of it. If they can make it fair-to all- then I will egt back behind it.— November 3, 2012 12:31 a.m.
Escondido child abuser wants to move to L.A.
I think that may be the reason, the sex offender only does the 85% in the STATE PEN, not local/county/realignment. Doesn't make sense at all. There was a couple sentenced in OC 2 days ago, TEACHERS, for sex offenses against students and they got NO jail time, only probation. And if that was not bad enough they were NOT required to register as sex offenders. You have MISDEMEANOR violations that REQUIRE sex offender registration, yet these convicted felons who were teachers who abused their authority in the worst possible way were not required to. That judge needs to be removed. Another example of how our system is broken. I personally think the state should apply the credits to every offense, no exceptions, you either use them or you don't use them, no exceptions. Right now sex offenders and so called "violent" offense do 85% with 15% credits, except murderers, who do 100%. I think the system is entirely screwed up, due to the prison guard union. They have wrecked the system, and THEY run it, not the state.— November 3, 2012 12:24 a.m.
Ex-U-T owner was "good guy" in Romney's alleged auto bailout profiteering
Don-Your past reminds me of mine except I was a Dem. I was always a hardcore, very hardcore, democrat my entire life, until about 10-15 years ago when it became very obvious that the CA Dems were rolling the poor, middle class and everyone else so they could give the public employees-their main and IMO **ONLY constituent**- huge pay and benefit package, at the expense of the poor, mainly through regressive taxes like the sales tax (tobacco, booze, etc). They really imploded....funny how our views evolve, or change with the political landscape as it changes.— November 3, 2012 12:17 a.m.
Ex-U-T owner was "good guy" in Romney's alleged auto bailout profiteering
I swear- Trump as such a person I looked up to in the 1980's, and even the 1990's, but he has gone off the deep end. Obama called him a "carnival barker" which are the toothless tattooed meth addicted guys who try to get you to play the fixed games at carnivals ( I think a journalist said it originally) and that fits Trump perfectly. His $5 million offer for Obama to produce his transcripts was about as low as he has gone, and can go. He is destroying his legacy as a powerful and smart businessman and will be forever viewed as a sideshow carnival barker if he doesn't clean up his act.— November 3, 2012 12:13 a.m.
