Cheap art in L.A.
Very helpful article. I'm in agreement with the reviewer about taking Amtrak to LA. It so beats driving. It's great to see LACMA mentioned in the article. It's constantly evolving as is downtown LA. Hopefully, you'll visit again and review the downtown museums and restaurants. Maybe, write a day trips series of articles about museums and restaurants within a 200 mile radius of San Diego. (A review of the Palm Springs art museums/galleries along with some reasonably priced restaurant recommendations would be welcome as I'm visiting there in Sept.).— August 2, 2013 9:18 p.m.
DJ/engineer buys run-down North Park building
Sounds like a good use of space. Hopefully, developers will start seeing more value in the properties on University west of 30th up to Florida. Now, that's where there's some real room for improvements.— June 26, 2013 7:43 p.m.

Very cool pic. It would make a great poster for the 2014 Arts Festival.— May 18, 2013 8:24 p.m.
Coco's Restaurant in North Park is kaput
I'm sorry to hear that Coco's wasn't able to adjust to the changing tastes of it's customers. I never had a great or bad meal there and the service/price was decent. As the article says, a non-chain restaurant might be a better fit. But please, keep the prices reasonable. Great Maple replac ed the old Byran's on Washington and is a bit pricey for what you get. http://sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2013/apr/0…— April 8, 2013 5:59 p.m.
