Cool! You are so smart to film Rocio's mother cooking--and your daughter learning from her. I heartily wish I'd done this with my grandmother, some of whose Mennonite family recipes went with her to eternal rest. The albondigas could probably be done with a spiced-up ground meat substitute...— August 25, 2009 11:30 p.m.

fumbler, I don't think SurfP is capable of anything like discretion. When he is not baying at the moon along with the rest of the gang from Lady and the Tramp, he is setting up Ted Haggard-style encounters, soon to be splashed all over the New York Post :)— August 25, 2009 11:06 p.m.
Party Time?
antigeekasstoophat, so you smack lightly of ancient Egypt. SurfP is a tweaker, no doubt, as is fumbler. PP, we do not care if you cheat on us. Please philander away, wayyyy away.— August 25, 2009 10:45 p.m.

Oops. Missed these posts. How you get insurance to pay: Tell your primary care doc (truthfully, in my case) that you have back and neck pain and trouble running. S/he will refer you to a cosmetic surgeon. It's a very common procedure, and almost always covered, if you have decent insurance.— August 25, 2009 12:26 a.m.

PS: The lightskinned bias is probably worldwide. In school, we examined a variety of cultures and biases toward lighter-skinned people; you can see it very clearly in South Asian cultures and the caste systems--media representatives (such as on your telenovellas and news programs) tend to present the paler ideal. There was also recently a program on Irani women going around with bandages on their noses to fake having had a coveted nose surgery, which anglicizes the shape and size of the nose. It was interesting because a film director was searching for Persian actresses with natural noses, and had a hard time finding any.— August 24, 2009 4:47 p.m.

Well, John, are you up for sharing your recipes, then? I am serious about getting serious with some downhome Mexican cuisine. Meet me on Banker's Hill and come alone, with recipes jotted on unmarked bills :)— August 24, 2009 4:43 p.m.

SD's two cents: AG, thanks for giving mom a new mission. As for fumbler, y'all know he's the best entertainment value on this site. You know you left-click whenever you see his posts. Which brings us to PP. Isn't there a "Delete Pete" petition to sign? I mean, geezus, PP, what's with all the long posts? You are only slightly more interesting than Victorian taxidermy--get a blog already!— August 24, 2009 12:20 a.m.

Hmm, where are those recipes?— August 23, 2009 4:59 p.m.

I came here to read some Baja blogs, not a crappy ad. Hello, Reader Website Administrator? Can we get rid of these?— August 23, 2009 4:56 p.m.
