Did you write those yourself, gringo?— September 23, 2009 12:33 a.m.

Hey, Pike: Looks like you missed the 'special' little poem accompanying the "Velvish" sac. In fact, if you remove all text from the description paragraph but the adjectives, it is pretty damn funny. Here's the $700 'poem,' surely written by someone's useless nephew: "COLOR: Red L is for the Love you give me. O, you're the only one. V means you're very, very special, and E for every time we make-out. Tender isn't it? Well, that's what you get with red, tender, tender, tender. A color that speaks of passion and heat (in the Sac®)."— September 23, 2009 12:26 a.m.

Love sac, duh nuh nuh nuh, you make my heart...crack? A unique and fun approach here, Pike. Ya got a new reader in me :)— September 23, 2009 12:17 a.m.

I don't see an attractiveness disparity. Men and women have different beauty--though when we first met AG made fun of some of my choices for male attractiveness on some thread--do you even remember who I chose, AG? I don't, but 'pretty' ain't first on the list--or even a big vodka bottle :)— September 22, 2009 11:34 p.m.

I hear what you're saying, elsabio. But can you see how your rhetoric reaffirms a monolithic US entity, against which you then construct your view of Tijuana? Don't get me wrong. I think it is important to do this, and applaud your efforts, but it also seems important to admit it is necessary; that working with the binary oppositions you employ are inescapable. Your rhetoric will be much clearer for it.— September 22, 2009 11:25 p.m.

Oh wait--I see what you mean. Unlearned/relearned, not relearned as in, we all once lived in a world of care bears and rainbows, until the dark unicorn barged in, carrying the troll of racial hate on its back.— September 22, 2009 10:42 p.m.

"We all have histories that dictate our tastes and habits. But things that may be unecessary or ignorant can be unlearned, or in a more positive light, re-learned." Good point--though about 'relearning,' I don't see people as tabuli rasi (would this be the plural?). I try to live by example when it comes to racial and cultural tolerance and inclusivity, but take care not to sound preachy. People get up in arms, and think you are the PC police--the usual knee jerk reaction. "I wait for them to be placed on my plate with some kind of delectable sandwich. Who knew?" I agree. Learned long ago not to limit the palette--or the palate! :)— September 22, 2009 10:38 p.m.
