Bonus Blog: Funny Things Cats Do
Haha! It is so funny to think about how cats have their own world of concerns; they are all maneuvering around to make sure they are taking full advantage of their 'stations'--literally, there are the 'up high' cats, the floor-level cats, etc. How many do you have, CuddleFish?— October 16, 2009 12:19 a.m.

Bonus Blog: Funny Things Cats Do
Cats can be almost human. My grandmother had a Siamese, Kimmy, who used to play hide and seek with me. I'd hide and he'd seek. Over and over. I'd go down the block and hide in the neighbor's bush, then my Nana would say, Ok, go find Suzy now. He always did. Kim also sat on the counter at eye level, and chewed us out for being gone at the beach all day, but he also gave the most soulful looks ever, and I swear he could talk. Nicky was our fluffy ragdoll boy, quite the swell with his cream puffball body, and chocolate ears and paws. He used to come up and touch his nose to mine, so sweet. Quinn the big cream and orange shorthair, and Maggie (Mags) the little scrappy calico, were a dynamic duo. We used to put their "magic wand" with the feather toy at the end up on a very high bookshelf, so they couldn't destroy it in our absence. They were addicted to that thing--I'd whip it around like a ringmaster, and they did flips and rolls in the air like real gymnasts. (East German judge always gave them a 10). Anyway, Quinn and Mags would sit at the foot of this dauntingly high shelf, and look at each other, then straight up to where the wand peeked out up there. Then one of them would try to negotiate finding furniture to try and get up there, step by step. Mica is my big Maine Coon fellow now, and very expressive with his polydactal front toes. He has a "thumb" that would make hitchhiking very easy, but he most often uses it to wrap his paws around whatever he wants--my hand, a toy, his scratching posts. Like a ragdoll, you can pick this guy up and sling him straight across your shoulder. His beautiful big ruff stays majestic even in the heat of summer, and I brush him each day until he shines like the pantalooned pasha he really is :)— October 15, 2009 11:56 p.m.

Columbus--The Man, The Myth...The Mercenary!
"I'm actually a humble, quiet guy. I've studied human nature for too long." You are neither humble nor quiet, and the only human being you've "studied" is yourself--and STILL miss valuable conclusions that might help you to work your way out of being such an a-hole.— October 15, 2009 11:16 p.m.
Columbus--The Man, The Myth...The Mercenary!
"If you and AG were given the world to do as you please, you'd criminalize speech." This doesn't deserve address that is any more thoughtful than what you wrote. Accusations, black-and-white, baseless conclusions, epithets...is that all you have to offer by way of argument, Pete? Where is that great "ah ha" moment you've been promising of your ability to change people's minds about everything? "Don't believe everything you hear,SD...." This is coming from a guy who hasn't even lifted an asscheek to find a way to see a doctor for a chronic, but likely treatable condition--and who prefers to simply garner sympathy for it from others. I've been chronically ill on and off since I was twenty years old, and you can bet your conspiracy theory I've done all the research possible into my condition, and that I do pretty much all I can to stay healthy (with the exception of smoking cigs)--including making sure I have health insurance and pay my way. Let's just say that when it comes to the medical, I probably do know a lot more than you do, Pete. As for the H1N1 virus, I sincerely doubt you've done anything other than listen to a few sound bites--just about everything you say sounds this way. Pete, you act like you are the only person on the planet who has problems, and that you are the most unique individual ever to grace our presence. Yet all I have heard from you thus far, besides racial slurs, is recycled self-pity, and a fairly common form of conspiracy logic and thinly veiled (or not so veiled) bigotry fobbed off as "independent thinking" and "free speech." What I have respected about you is that you have reached out to others when you didn't have to, and made yourself vulnerable; but I can see that for you, clearly, friendship does not go both ways. You remain just as thoughtless toward others as ever, and are probably a sucking black hole of sympathy--never enough for you, but you are the only one who deserves it, right?— October 15, 2009 11:12 p.m.
I Only Have One Thing To Say Today/extra content at 12noon
Happy Belated Thanksgiving, Nan! My family is Canadian, some hailing from Steinbach, Manitoba, and some from Montreal-- but they now for many years celebrate the American Thanksgiving instead. Besides turkey, they like to make a holiday tortiere, a minced, heavily spiced meat pie, and I'd say they are more fans of Labatt Blue than Molson ;)— October 15, 2009 9:41 p.m.

re: #96: That was about a community skate park! Necessary, perhaps, but not exactly funny. re: #97: As I sit here trembling with a 100 degree fever, you can bet your thermometer that it soothes me to know that Pete doesn't "believe" in the swine flu. ???!!! As for dead horses, no. But it greatly disappoints me that you don't seem interested in writing anything but the same old one-liners about "liberals" and perceived infringement on your freedoms, Pete. You haven't responded specifically to anything I wrote, and it doesn't look like you are even listening. I read everything you write, and I listen intently. If you write something I can grapple with intellectually, that provides some food for thought on this issue, I'm here to give it serious consideration.— October 15, 2009 9:19 p.m.

I don't know, Cuddle, that was an appropriate slip, as I'm sure blowup dollars are exactly what interests Kerry Steigerwaltz! :)— October 15, 2009 9:12 p.m.
