Shield for All
re: #17 and 18: crs and Pete make great points too: "The losers are the insurance co. executives, right?" Question for all: I just feel like I need some direction here--lost in a sea of opposing viewpoints and rhetoric. What should I be reading in order to understand the healthcare proposals currently on the table?— November 5, 2009 7:53 a.m.
Shield for All
Glad you two are passing the peace pipe, and I agree--magics was speaking to one particular topic, and one particular kind of scammer--from personal observation. Yes, it WAS well said. Cuddle also wrote a great, passionate denouncement of an arguably more important kind of scammer. re: #15: If you've seen Moore's body of work (remember way back to "Roger and me?") you understand why Ron Paul's point was a semantic quibble (even Larry noted this). I think he used "capitalism" to broaden the field, but corporatism is the devil here.— November 5, 2009 7:51 a.m.

The pix are fab. So is the car--have never seen that much chrome on a dome! :)— November 5, 2009 7:42 a.m.
SDGE Lobbyist Said to be Innocent, Reinstated
re: #110: Actually nope--I was NOT referring to that thread. You originated yours, Cuddle and I originated mine. I'm sure plenty of peeps have spoofed it by now :)— November 5, 2009 6:59 a.m.

This sounds and looks sooo fun, tiki! Let's go! Is that the original "Bob" perched up top there, or are there changes to his frozen, manic expression? I remember the original Bobs used to stand in front of the entrance, and I used to hang all over them as a kid. Remember "Little Black Sambo?" That theme was chucked for very obvious reasons, but I remember the menu always had the Uncle Remus story about how maple syrup was 'born.'— November 5, 2009 6:55 a.m.

What has been removed is "bold," which went so nicely with the "unmasked" that I am now depressed. And as you know, a large angry mob of bus riders has been assembled. This detail is lacking.— November 5, 2009 6:48 a.m.
Highly Desirable
Pikey, it is a day of multiple triumphs! 1. I think you dislodged the barnacle! The insulin has been deleted by author! 2. And I don’t say this lightly--this horse pimpin’ ad is surely right up there with blank cassette tapes for teachers! Let’s observe some excerpts from: "Warmblood Horse available Flexible lease for special lady:” “He can do it all & very flashy while doing it. Very willing attitude which makes him such a great friend. Please NO wackos, flakos, drama, snobs or uptight/rigid types. I prefer someone older & responsible. I am a very laidback person and need the same, non “diva types” please. I want someone to have fun and enjoy the ride. please no one under the age of 18 (no exceptions) for legal reasons Please don't be intimidated by my ad, I am willing to wait for the right person! Facility has nice normal ladies to ride with.” Nah, only slightly creepy? And are we pimping for the horse or for the rider? This is an all-round pimping job. I bet this guy has a whip! :) Reading Cowgirls, huh? Gotta love opposable thumbs! Seen the film version with Uma Thurman? Fun. Currently, I have a copy of “Asleep in Frog Pajamas” on a dusty back shelf, and have not attempted it. Would you recommend it, gringo or Pike? Rare but whole disagreement with Pike’s characterization of the coffeetable book! I have read each and every one of my coffeetable books, which are texts all non-shallowly dense with both photographs and information, and rotate them periodically. The only shallow note is that I do tend to choose them for display on the coffeetable based on how well they go with the current livingroom color scheme of brown, olive, gold, and black. I think ‘Maus’ would make a fine coffeetable book. Red, black, white. Pete, how could Seinfeld have been underrated? It is known by everyone, and immensely popular. I would say that an underrated show would be more a Curb, (gained in popularity, though) or an Arrested Development (canceled for no good reason).— November 5, 2009 6:44 a.m.

I was raised on fast food, with Frankensteinian results, and think I remember Naugles. We lived in Placentia, OC, and those street names sound familiar--sure we are not talking Orange County? Didn't Naugles originate the brown sugar fried tortilla chip triangles for dessert? Pig flu, Pete? Feel better, "homey." :)— November 5, 2009 5:57 a.m.
None
Darn, half an inch too short, and most importantly --I'm not 100% Caucasian. Guess we aren't going together--which is TOO bad for you, chump. Have fun on your Nazi trip :)— November 5, 2009 5:39 a.m.
Blogging for SPAM
"WOK WOK for SDaniels antiG...she's Hawaiian and denying her SPAM heritage...more the pity...how much is the delivery charge lady???" It's true, though I've made up for it in Ramen consumption--and let's not forget fresh fish! Sushi! Sashimi! Nan, I think Ramen was the military rations of the 70s--and I think being fed Ramen is what made me so sick--all the preservatives. Gawd only knows what SPAM might've achieved, given the same time and patient, ignorant consumption ;)— November 5, 2009 5:26 a.m.
